11 The Collecting skill in inZOI is a gathering skill focused on mining and resource collection. It was introduced in the v0.3.0 update alongside the free Island Getaway DLC (August 2025), together with Handiwork, Fishing, and Swimming. Collecting is available from the Teenager life stage through Senior.

Mined items are automatically added to the Family Collection Log, and completing the log earns additional rewards. The skill works closely with Handiwork, which covers what you do with gathered materials at the Crafting Table.

77 Collecting experience is gained primarily through mining at Mining Spots scattered throughout the game world. Each successful mining attempt raises the Collecting skill and deposits raw materials into the Zoi's inventory.

1212 Mining is the core activity of the Collecting skill. Mining Spots appear as rocky patches or shiny spots on the ground in non-residential areas. To mine, walk your Zoi to a Mining Spot and interact with it, then choose the "Mine with Tools" option. A pickaxe is required to mine effectively; mining with bare hands is far less efficient.

1414 Mining spots respawn quickly, giving you plenty of chances to gather resources in a single play session. Each mining attempt takes a short time and deposits rocks, gemstones, or raw minerals directly into the Zoi's inventory.

Crafted pickaxes include Silver, Gold, Diamond, and Gem tiers, each dramatically increasing the chance of discovering rare gemstones. Upgrading pickaxes is essential because a Stone Pickaxe will almost never find gemstones, while a Gem Pickaxe at gold or mixed spots produces them regularly.

5555 Everything your household collects, from fish and crops to gemstones, jewels, and tools, is automatically recorded in the Family Collection Log. The log is accessed by clicking the book-shaped icon located below the Property notification board on the right side of the screen.

Completing sections of the log unlocks exclusive furniture rewards.
