HUNGER is announced as a Windows PC title, sold through two storefronts at Early Access launch. Because the game has not shipped, most of what is publicly known about its technical footprint comes from the two store listings themselves, which carry feature tags, language support, anti-cheat disclosure, and age-gating information that the studio has not otherwise written up. This page collects what those listings confirm and marks clearly where details are still unpublished.
Release and Availability
HUNGER is planned to launch into Early Access on PC in 2026. The studio has not announced a specific day, and both storefronts list the release as coming soon rather than giving a date. The studio has stated it expects to spend roughly two years in Early Access before a full release, and that the price will rise gradually as content ships. See Developer for the wider development timeline.
Windows is the only platform listed on either store. The studio has stated a goal of bringing the game to current-generation consoles at some point after the Early Access launch, but no console has been named and no console window has been given.
Storefront Feature Tags
Both listings tag the game with a set of platform features. These tags are the most concrete confirmation available for several multiplayer and account-level details, since the studio has not published a dedicated technical page.
Feature | Listed On | What It Confirms |
|---|---|---|
Online PvP | Steam | Player-versus-player combat in Expeditions is an online, server-hosted feature. |
Online Co-op | Steam | Cooperative play is supported online, matching the stated duo and trio party sizes. |
Online Multiplayer | Epic Games Store | The Epic listing's equivalent multiplayer tag. |
Cross Platform | Epic Games Store | The Epic listing carries a cross-platform feature tag. With Windows the only announced platform on both stores, the studio has not published any detail on what this covers in practice. |
Family Sharing | Steam | The title is eligible to be shared within a Steam family group. |
Profile Features Limited | Steam | Profile items such as trading cards and backgrounds are restricted, which is standard for a title that has not yet released. |
Uses Kernel Level Anti-Cheat | Steam | A mandatory disclosure that the anti-cheat driver runs at kernel level. See below. |
Epic ID required | Epic Games Store | An Epic account is required to play the Epic build, listed under login accounts required. |
The Steam listing was revised on 24 August 2026. Two tags that had been on the page since at least early June, Steam Achievements and Partial Controller Support, are no longer shown, and the listing now also files the game under the RPG genre alongside Action and Early Access. The store data behind the page reports no controller support of any kind, and the studio has published nothing explaining the change, so the tags are recorded here as they currently stand rather than read as a statement about what the finished game will support. That revision also cut the store video carousel from two trailers to one, though the second entry, the gameplay reveal trailer, has since been restored and both trailers are on the page again.
Anti-Cheat
The Steam listing names Easy Anti-Cheat as the game's anti-cheat solution and carries the kernel level anti-cheat disclosure that platform rules require. That means the anti-cheat component installs a driver running at the operating system's kernel level rather than only as a user-space process. The studio has separately reported that its anti-cheat solution was integrated during the run-up to the technical tests.
No opt-out has been described, and no statement has been published about how the anti-cheat behaves on compatibility layers or handheld PC hardware.
Language Support
Both storefronts list English only, and the Steam listing marks English as supported for interface, full audio, and subtitles. No additional localisation has been announced for the Early Access launch.
Age Rating and Content
The two storefronts disagree on the rating. The official site still shows a Rating Pending badge, which is the usual state for a title that has not been through a board. The Epic listing, by contrast, carries an ESRB Mature 17+ badge with the content descriptors Blood and Gore, Crude Humor, Intense Violence, Nudity, Sexual Themes, Strong Language, and Use of Drugs, plus an interactive-elements notice reading Users Interact. That page also asks for a date of birth before it will display.
Steam shows regional ratings of its own: 18 for Brazil, 18 for Germany, and a block in Indonesia. All three are generated by the storefront from the developer questionnaire rather than issued by a ratings board, so they describe how the store treats the game in each territory, not a board decision. The Steam listing separately flags in-game chat and online interactivity as interactive elements. Given the proximity voice chat used in Expeditions, both storefronts treat unmoderated player contact as a content consideration.
The Steam content notice describes intense violence, horror themes, some nudity, and a dark atmosphere involving graphic combat and disturbing elements.
System Requirements
System requirements have not been published. Both listings do carry a requirements block, but every field in them, covering operating system, processor, memory, and graphics, is filled in as to be confirmed for both the minimum and recommended tiers. Any specification circulating ahead of launch should be treated as unconfirmed until the studio publishes one.
Playtest and Open Beta Access
The Steam page hosts a playtest sign-up. Players can request access and are notified when the studio is ready to admit more participants. This route opened up after the third technical test finished, and the studio has said an Open Beta is planned before the Early Access launch, though no beta date has been given.
Access to earlier technical tests was distributed through the game's community server rather than the storefront, so the storefront sign-up is the first broadly public access route the game has offered.
Legal and Trademark
HUNGER is a registered trademark of Good Fun Corporation Limited in the United Kingdom and elsewhere. The Steam listing carries a copyright line covering 2023 to 2026 in the studio name; the Epic listing has not been updated past 2025. The official site notes that dates and content remain subject to change ahead of release.
Neither storefront lists a price. There is no purchase option, no pre-order, and no package of any kind on either page, which is consistent with a title that has not opened sales. Both listings show the game as coming soon, and the Epic page offers only a wishlist button.
