West Aerfall Highlands is a mountainous region in Honor of Kings: World, forming the western counterpart to the East Aerfall Highlands. While the eastern highlands are defined by ancient ruins and hostile Mechanoids, the West Aerfall Highlands are characterized by their role as a social and organizational hub. The region is home to Frostcloud Town, the primary guild gathering place on the continent of Primaera. As described on the official website, this is where "guilds gather and talents shine."
The West Aerfall Highlands occupy a transition between the harsh, ruin-strewn terrain of the east and the more hospitable mountain valleys of the west. The landscape is still rugged and elevated, but pockets of civilization have taken root. Frostcloud Town is the largest settlement in the region, but smaller camps, waypoints, and outposts dot the mountainside, supporting the steady traffic of guild members and traders who pass through.
The West Aerfall Highlands share the high elevation of their eastern counterpart but feature a more varied terrain. The plateau gives way to a series of terraced mountain valleys, with Frostcloud Town nestled in the largest of these natural amphitheaters. Alpine forests of pine and cedar cover the slopes between settlements, and mountain streams fed by snowmelt run through the valleys.
Elevation: high-altitude terrain, slightly lower than the eastern plateau but still well above the starting regions
Climate: cold, with persistent cloud cover that gives the region its name; snowfall occurs during certain weather cycles
Terrain features: terraced valleys, forested mountain slopes, narrow passes, and cliff-side paths
Vegetation: coniferous forests, alpine meadows in the sheltered valleys, and hardy mountain flora
The terrain around Frostcloud Town has been developed with roads, bridges, and retaining walls to accommodate the settlement's growing population. Outside the town, however, the wilderness remains untamed. Wolves, mountain cats, and territorial creatures patrol the forested slopes, providing ongoing combat encounters for players moving between locations.
Frostcloud Town is the defining feature of the West Aerfall Highlands and one of the most important social spaces in the entire game. Built into a natural cliff amphitheater, the town serves as the headquarters for the guild system. Players who have joined or formed a guild will spend significant time here managing guild affairs, accessing exclusive services, and interacting with other guild members.
The town is organized into several districts, each serving a different function. The central plaza hosts the main guild registration office and a large bulletin board displaying guild rankings, war results, and upcoming events. Surrounding the plaza are vendor streets with shops offering gear, consumables, and cosmetic items. Residential terraces climb the cliff walls above, with guild halls occupying the most prominent positions along the upper tiers.
The West Aerfall Highlands, through Frostcloud Town, provide comprehensive infrastructure for guild activities:
Guild halls: customizable instanced spaces where guild leaders manage membership, set objectives, and display achievements
Crafting quarter: a district containing blacksmithing forges, alchemy stations, and tailoring workshops available to all guild members
Training arena: a dedicated sparring ground where members can duel, test builds, and practice coordinated tactics
Shared warehouse: communal storage accessible to guild members for depositing and withdrawing materials
War room: a planning space where guild officers coordinate strategy for guild wars and large-scale PvP events
Bounty board: lists daily and weekly guild missions, boss bounties, and cooperative challenges
Frostcloud Town offers the most comprehensive set of vendor services in the game, rivaling even the Academy in breadth. General goods merchants sell consumables, repair kits, and basic crafting materials. Specialty vendors exclusive to the town offer guild-themed cosmetics, high-tier crafting recipes, and rare gear components that cannot be purchased elsewhere.
A traveling merchant appears in the town on a rotating schedule, offering limited-stock rare items that change with each visit. An auction house allows players to buy and sell items across the server, making the town a natural trading hub. Repair stations and storage access points are conveniently distributed throughout the settlement to minimize downtime between activities.
Beyond its practical facilities, the West Aerfall Highlands and Frostcloud Town in particular are designed as social environments. Tea houses and gathering halls line the central streets, where players can sit, chat, and watch the world go by. A fashion district showcases cosmetic items and allows players to preview outfits before purchasing. Street performers and NPC vendors create ambient life throughout the town.

Seasonal events transform Frostcloud Town with themed decorations and limited-time activities. Lantern festivals, guild tournaments, and holiday celebrations bring unique visual changes to the town and offer event-specific rewards. The town square hosts community gatherings, and its elevated position provides dramatic views of the surrounding mountain landscape.
While Frostcloud Town itself is a safe zone, the surrounding West Aerfall Highlands contain combat content appropriate for mid-to-endgame players. Mountain predators, hostile wildlife, and occasional Mechanoid patrols from the eastern highlands create persistent threats outside the town's boundaries. Several outdoor boss encounters spawn in the forested valleys and mountain passes, offering group content for guilds looking for a challenge without entering a formal dungeon.
The West Aerfall Highlands connect to the East Aerfall Highlands via a central mountain pass that transitions between the two regions. Southern trails descend toward the mid-level zones of Primaera, while western paths lead further into the remote mountain territories. Fast travel waypoints are located at Frostcloud Town's main gate, the training arena, and a scenic overlook on the western ridge.
The region's position as a guild hub means it sees heavy player traffic. Roads are well-maintained between waypoints, and NPC patrols along the main routes help keep the paths relatively safe. Players traveling to or from guild activities will pass through the West Aerfall Highlands regularly, making familiarity with its layout valuable.
The Aerfall Highlands take their name from an ancient term meaning "the place where the sky fell," a reference to a mythological event in which celestial forces are said to have struck the mountains, reshaping the terrain and leaving behind the deposits of Flow-enriched minerals found throughout the region. Frostcloud Town was established generations later by pioneering guilds who recognized the strategic and economic value of the highlands. Over time, the town grew from a frontier outpost into the premier guild settlement on the continent.
