Expanded Stargazing Observatory with Chapter 5 trial and combat route details
Stargazing Observatory (观星台, Guānxīng Tái) is the central landmark of the Stargazing Range (观星群山), one of the three confirmed sub-areas of Jixia's high-elevation plateau alongside Cloud Platform (云台) and Star-Reflecting Lake (映星湖). It sits at the highest accessible point of the Jixia region and offers the launch map's most dramatic panoramic view.
As described in Tencent's pre-launch reveal, the Observatory is where astrologers gather to contemplate celestial mysteries and chart the ways of heaven and earth. This role is mechanized in-game through divination interactions and environmental puzzles that respond to the time-of-day and weather systems. The observatory tower itself is a tall stone platform ringed with inscribed star maps, brass astrolabes, and open viewing terraces oriented toward specific celestial bodies.
Thematically, the Stargazing Observatory is tied to the 瑜亮之争 (Yu Liang Zhi Zheng) conflict: the canonical rivalry between Zhou Yu and Zhuge Liang. This is a multi-region Suowen quest that threads through the Stargazing Range. Players trace clues between Cloud Platform's trial mechanisms and the Observatory's readings, with Star-Reflecting Lake providing a quiet mirror-image resolution. Completion rewards Suowen lore fragments that deepen the Jixia F4 storyline (Zhuge Liang, Zhou YuYuangeSima Yi).
The Observatory is one of the first destinations players head to after the Chapter 2 waystone unlock. Its elevation makes it a useful orientation point when exploring Jixia's middle tier, and ambient NPCs comment on the current weather cycle, giving the player readable cues about the day-night system.
The observatory is one of the major checkpoints of Jixia Chapter 5: Proof of Strength. After the opening academy route and the 14-light-orb trial, the player advances toward the observatory and then climbs its upper side with Meng Ya.
The upper approach includes a combat test against enemy packs and elites rather than a pure sightseeing sequence.
The central pillar mechanisms in that section deal heavy freezing damage and are one of the main hazards of the route.
Clearing the observatory-side climb leads directly into the field route where the Blazing Giant Lizard appears.
