Status: This character appears in the base Honor of Kings MOBA roster but is NOT a playable Resonance in Honor of Kings: World as of the April 10, 2026 S0 season launch. The 11 confirmed launch Resonances are the Child of the Primal Flow, Dongfang Yao, Xi Shi, Meng Ya, Master Lu Ban, Sun Bin, Wang Zhaojun, Jialuo, Mulan, Kai, and Leng Chun. This article describes the character's base-MOBA background and is retained for reference. It may be updated if the character is added as a Resonance in a future HoKW season. Lao Fuzi (老夫子, "Old Master") is a named NPC at Jixia Academy in Honor of Kings: World. Baidu Baike primary text identifies him as the master of the Martial Way (武道), one of the three specialist branches of the academy. He is a teacher and faculty figure whom the player encounters during the main story, particularly if they pursue martial training paths. He is not in the S0 launch playable roster as a Resonance (共鸣).
Jixia Academy has three specialist branches of study:
Martial Way (武道) - Combat training and physical discipline. Lao Fuzi is confirmed as the Master of this branch.
Magic Way (魔道) - Flow-based magic and sorcery. The named master has not been published.
Mechanism Way (机关) - Mechanical engineering and Mohist Machinery. Associated with the tradition of Mozi.
Lao Fuzi's role is to instruct students who choose the Martial Way path. He appears during character creation if the player selects martial as their specialization, and he continues to appear throughout the main story as a mentor and quest giver. His teaching philosophy emphasizes discipline, tradition, and the long cultivation of skill.
Whether Lao Fuzi is one of the Three Sages is not explicitly stated in Baidu Baike. The named Three Sages are Fuzi (also rendered "Master Fuzi" in some translations), Mozi, and Zhuangzi. It is possible but not confirmed that Lao Fuzi is the same figure as the Sage Fuzi, given the shared "Fuzi" element in the name. Readers should treat the connection as plausible but unconfirmed until TiMi publishes clearer faculty information.
The S0 launch roster confirmed by Baidu Baike consists of 11 Resonances: Child of the Primal Flow, Dongfang Yao, Xi Shi, Meng Ya, Master Lu Ban, Sun Bin, Wang Zhaojun, Jialuo, Mulan, Kai, and Leng Chun. Lao Fuzi is not among them. Earlier wiki versions described him as a playable Fighter hero with specific abilities like "Enhanced Attack Passive," "Pull/Grapple," and "Discipline Strike," but these claims are not sourced to any verified Honor of Kings: World material and appear to be third-party fabrications.
TiMi has indicated that additional Resonances will be added to Honor of Kings: World over time, drawn both from the broader Honor of Kings MOBA roster and from HoKW-original characters in the style of Leng Chun. Lao Fuzi could potentially be added as a playable Resonance in a future season, but this has not been announced. For now, he should be understood as an NPC teacher rather than a playable character.
