Lao Fuzi (also known as Fuzi) is a Fighter hero in Honor of Kings: World. He is a melee combatant who grows stronger the longer he stays in a fight, rewarding sustained aggressive play with escalating attack speed and movement speed bonuses. His combat philosophy is one of discipline and persistence: players who maintain pressure and land consistent hits unlock his full potential, while those who disengage lose their built-up momentum.

Lao Fuzi's core mechanic revolves around a hit counter system. After landing five consecutive basic attacks on enemies, he enters an enhanced state that grants significant bonuses to both attack speed and movement speed. This enhanced state persists as long as the player continues attacking, creating a snowball effect where Lao Fuzi becomes progressively faster and more dangerous the longer a fight lasts. Disengaging from combat causes the stacks to decay, so the character rewards players who commit to trades and fight in sustained engagements.

Enhanced Attack Passive: Every five basic attacks landed, Lao Fuzi gains a stack of his passive enhancement. Each stack increases his attack speed and movement speed by a percentage. Discipline Strike: A powerful overhead blow that deals bonus damage scaling with the number of enhanced attack stacks currently active. At zero stacks, it deals moderate damage. Lao Fuzi fills the sustained melee DPS role in co-op and raid content. He excels in longer boss fights where he has time to ramp up his attack speed stacks. In short encounters, he is less effective than burst-oriented fighters like Li Bai, but in extended engagements, his damage output can exceed almost any other melee character once he reaches full stacks.
His pull ability makes him useful for controlling adds (additional enemies) during boss encounters, dragging stray enemies back into the group's AoE kill zone. When paired with a tank like Kai who holds the boss's attention, Lao Fuzi can focus entirely on building stacks and maximizing his damage output from the flank.

"Lao Fuzi" is a colloquial term that translates roughly to "Old Master" or "Venerable Teacher." In the context of Honor of Kings, the character is inspired by Confucius (Kong Fuzi, 551-479 BCE), the ancient Chinese philosopher whose teachings on ethics, morality, and governance formed the foundation of Confucianism. Confucius is one of the most influential figures in East Asian intellectual history, and his emphasis on discipline, self-cultivation, and persistent effort is reflected in Lao Fuzi's combat design.
In both the original Honor of Kings MOBA and Honor of Kings: World, Lao Fuzi is reimagined as a martial arts master rather than a purely scholarly figure. This creative interpretation takes Confucius's philosophical principles of discipline and mastery through practice and translates them into a gameplay mechanic: the more disciplined the player is about maintaining attack chains, the stronger Lao Fuzi becomes. The character's visual design blends traditional scholarly robes with martial arts elements, reflecting this fusion of philosopher and warrior.
Tips
Prioritize maintaining your attack chain above all else. Every moment spent not attacking causes your stacks to decay, which directly reduces your damage output.
Use the pull ability to prevent enemies from kiting you. If a target moves out of melee range, pull them back in to keep your hit counter going.
Save Discipline Strike for when you have maximum stacks. Using it at zero stacks wastes its scaling potential.
In co-op, coordinate with your tank to ensure the boss stays in melee range. Lao Fuzi suffers when bosses have frequent disengage or teleport mechanics.
Pair Lao Fuzi with a Support Refinement like Sun Bin as your second slot. If you need to disengage temporarily, swap to Sun Bin to slow the boss, then swap back and rebuild stacks.
Lao Fuzi is weaker in short encounters. If you are fighting trash mobs that die quickly, consider a burst Refinement instead and save Lao Fuzi for elite enemies and bosses.
