Hou Yi is an Honor of Kings MOBA hero who has not been confirmed as a playable Resonance in Honor of Kings: World as of the April 10, 2026 S0 Season launch. However, Hou Yi plays a significant role in Honor of Kings: World's ancient lore as the legendary archer entrusted with destroying the ten Sun Towers. The verified launch bow user among the Resonances is Jialuo, not Hou Yi.

Hou Yi is not in the confirmed S0 Season launch roster of Honor of Kings: World (April 10, 2026). Lore Role in Honor of Kings: World

Per the Honor of Kings lore portal, Hou Yi was entrusted by his ruler with a secret mission to destroy the ten outer Sun Towers to keep the peace on the continent. This adapts the classical Chinese myth where Hou Yi shot down nine of the ten suns, reinterpreted as ten Sun Towers that channeled energy to the superbeing residence of Celestia. Hou Yi's mission is part of the ancient backstory that set the stage for The Wilting and the current state of Primaera.

Mythological Background

In Chinese mythology, Hou Yi (后羿) is one of the most famous legendary archers. The myth tells that the world once had ten suns in the sky, and their combined heat threatened to burn the earth. Hou Yi shot down nine of them with his bow, leaving one to provide the light and warmth the world needed. The myth is also tied to the story of Chang'e, his wife, who flew to the moon and became the moon goddess after consuming an elixir of immortality that Hou Yi had obtained. Honor of Kings: World's adaptation keeps the ten-suns framework but reinterprets the suns as mechanical towers built by the superbeings.

Hou Yi (后羿) is a hero from the Honor of Kings MOBA. As of the Honor of Kings: World S0 Season launch (April 10, 2026), Hou Yi is not a playable Resonance (共鸣) in the open-world action RPG. The S0 launch roster contains only 11 playable Resonances: Child of the Primal Flow, Dongfang Yao, Xi Shi, Meng Ya, Master Lu Ban, Sun Bin, Wang Zhaojun, Jialuo, Mulan, Kai, Leng Chun. Any skills or kit descriptions on this page that reference playable gameplay should be read as MOBA reference material, not as Honor of Kings: World launch content.

In the MOBA, Hou Yi fills the marksman role. In Honor of Kings: World, Hou Yi is referenced in the canonical Primaera lore surrounding the Sun Tower and the War of Gods. He appears in story/lore content but is not a playable Resonance at launch.
