Chapter 9: Guixu Dream Performance (归虚梦演) is the new main-story chapter unlocking with the S1 World Beginning Season of Honor of Kings: World on May 29, 2026. In the live build the chapter is presented in-game under the title 最终试炼 (Final Trial); "归虚梦演 / Guixu Dream Performance" was the pre-show working name. It continues the 归虚 (Guixu / Returning to the Void) arc that began in Chapter 8 of the S0 main story, taking the protagonist Child of the Primal Flow into the new Caiyun Basin region.
The S0 main story is structured as a 27-chapter arc (Prologue + 25 numbered chapters + Epilogue) tracking the Child of the Primal Flow through Jixia Academy, the surrounding plains, and the Frostcloud Town region. Chapter 9 is the first post-launch chapter and the formal start of the season-by-season narrative rollout. The 归虚 (Returning to the Void) arc threads through Chapter 8 of the launch build and continues directly into the Chapter 9 梦演 (Dream Performance) act.
"梦演" is the S1 sub-name and lends the season its full title: 世界启程·梦演 (World Beginning: Dream Performance). The chapter is expected to thread the new Resonances Sun Shangxiang and Longya into the protagonist's storyline, mirroring how earlier chapters introduced S0 Resonances like Xi Shi, Dongfang Yao, and Meng Ya.

S1 introduces a catch-up event for late-joining players and a set of low-level gear stat buffs aimed at smoothing the new-player ramp.
