Gomez

Gomez is the leader of the Old Camp and the most powerful single figure inside the Barrier. He rose to power by leading the original revolt against the royal guards who ran the Valley of Mines, and he has controlled the flow of magical ore out of the Colony ever since.

Rule

Under Gomez, the Old Camp functions as a kingdom in miniature. The Ore Barons answer to him, the Templars enforce his laws, and the Fire Mages are expected to back his regime in exchange for protection. Anyone who threatens his grip on the ore trade is dealt with harshly.

Paranoia

As the campaign progresses, Gomez grows increasingly paranoid about rivals inside and outside his own camp. This paranoia eventually leads him to a bloody purge of the Fire Mages, which reshapes the Old Camp's politics permanently and pushes several key allies toward open rebellion.

Relationship to the Hero

Gomez is not inherently hostile to the Nameless Hero, but he demands respect on his own terms. Whether the Hero cooperates with him, sidesteps him, or ultimately turns against him depends heavily on which camp the Hero joins and how far the player pushes into the Old Camp's internal politics.
