Flaming Torch

The flaming torch serves double duty in Gothic 1 Remake. It lights dark spaces when held, and it can also be swung as a weapon in a pinch. The Nyras Prologue demo allows players to use a flaming torch in combat alongside the sword, pick, and bow.

Role

The torch is a combat-adjacent utility more than a proper weapon. It is most valuable when the Hero needs to explore a dark shaft in the Old Mine or a cave and still wants to be able to hit something that attacks out of the dark. Carrying one creates a deliberate resource trade-off: torchlight or a proper two-handed weapon, not both.
