Diego

Diego is a veteran Old Camp scout and the first NPC the Nameless Hero meets after being thrown through the Barrier. He is one of the Four Friends, the tight-knit group of confidants the Hero gathers over the campaign.

First Encounter

Diego finds the Hero moments after Bullit knocks him out at the landing zone. He explains the basics of life in the Colony, the three camps, and the dangers of the surrounding wilderness, then points the Hero toward the Old Camp so he can deliver his letter.

Arc

Diego begins the game as a camp recruiter aligned with Gomez. As Gomez's leadership grows more erratic, he becomes a key rebel figure and one of the people pushing back against the Old Camp's internal purges. By the end of the campaign, he is one of the central allies coordinating the final push against the Sleeper.

Role for the Player

Throughout the game, Diego is a reliable source of hints and quest leads. He is among the few Old Camp members who treat the Hero straight from the start, which makes him a valuable contact regardless of which camp the Hero eventually joins.
