Rue is the enchanted ribbon guardian tied to Faye's sword in God of War Laufey. Rue is voiced by Perlina Lau.
Rue is tasked with keeping the devastatingly powerful blade and its immense power from falling into the wrong hands, and the studio says that heavy responsibility makes her both fiercely protective and slow to trust. After Faye awakens in the Everywhen, she must earn Rue's trust to wield the sword, and the two fight together to escape imprisonment. Rue's ribbons stay attached to the weapon as they battle through the realm.
Rue is one of the two companions who join Faye on her journey through the Everywhen; the other is the cosmic cube Phranque.
In combat, Rue doubles as an offensive tool, pulling enemies in toward Faye so she can land a finishing blow.
