God of War Laufey is the next mainline entry in the God of War series, in development at Santa Monica Studio for PlayStation 5. For the first time the series follows Faye, also known as Laufey, the late wife of Kratos and mother of Atreus. After her death she awakens in the Everywhen, the afterlife of the gods where all magic begins and ends and where beings from many mythologies converge, and sets out to protect the family she left behind. She fights with a legendary sword and her Golden Hand, a power that lets her manipulate souls, in combat that blends the fluid movement of the Greek era with the approach of the Norse era. Joining her are Phranque, a curious cosmic cube, and Rue, an enchanted ribbon guardian. A release date has not been announced.
