Faye, whose true name is Laufey, is the playable protagonist of God of War Laufey. She is voiced by Deborah Ann Woll.

Background

The reveal establishes Faye as the Golden Hand of the Jotnar, the most powerful protector of the Giants, and a legendary warrior and leader whose impact was felt across the Nine Realms long before she ever met Kratos. She once owned the Leviathan Axe. In the earlier Norse-era games she was known only after her death, as the guiding force behind the journey of Kratos and Atreus; Laufey makes her a playable lead for the first time.

Role in Laufey

After her funeral Faye awakens in the Everywhen, separated from her powers and forced to uncover the truth behind her situation while searching for a way home. Her goal is to protect the family she left behind. The game is framed around her humanity, her strengths, and her flaws.

Abilities

Faye fights with a fast, acrobatic combat style, her signature the Golden Hand soul power, and a legendary sword whose guardian Rue she must win over.
