God of War Laufey launches on February 16, 2027 for the PlayStation 5. Santa Monica Studio announced the date at its San Diego Comic-Con panel on July 24, 2026; until then the game had only been described as coming soon. It remains available to wishlist on the console's storefront.

PlayStation 5 is the only confirmed platform. On July 10, 2026 Santa Monica Studio confirmed that the game will be available on disc. As of September 2026, no editions or pricing have been disclosed: Sony says pre-orders will go live closer to release, and that details of pre-order bonuses and the different editions will come with them. Earlier games in the series were later released on PC, but as of September 2026 no PC version of Laufey has been announced; this page will be updated if more platforms are confirmed.

The listing still shows its age rating as pending, and as of September 2026 no rating has been assigned to the game. The official game page's own FAQ now states the February 16, 2027 date alongside the storefront listing.
