The complete achievement list for Gears of War: E-Day was published on September 9, 2026, almost four weeks before release. It runs to 55 achievements worth 1,000 gamerscore, and it is unusual among pre-launch lists because it names acts, difficulty tiers, enemy types, equipment and one Versus map that had not appeared in any earlier material. Nothing in it is spoiler-free: the achievement names themselves carry story beats.

What the List Confirms
Achievement text is written against the shipping build, so the list settles several things that were previously described only in general terms or read off a preview screen.
Detail | What the list states |
|---|---|
The campaign has five acts | Achievements are tagged "Unlock during Act 1" through "Unlock during Act 5": three in each of the first three acts and two each in Acts 4 and 5, thirteen in all. This is the first published statement of the act count. See Campaign Acts and Chapters |
Boot Camp is a tracked activity | The achievement FNG is awarded for completing Boot Camp, the short training course covered on Versus |
Insane is the top campaign difficulty | Two achievements require completing all acts on Insane, which confirms the hardest tier by name |
Horde Siege difficulty names | Infantry and Allfather both appear in achievement requirements, matching the tier ladder on Horde Siege |
Versus modes | Demolition and Conquest are both named in achievement requirements |
A Versus map by name | Battleship appears in an achievement requirement. All six launch maps are on Versus Maps |
New enemy names | Ticker, Bilefrog, Armored Wretch and Boomer all appear. Grub is used as the Gears slang for a Locust. See Enemies |
Horde Siege equipment | Sonic Disruptor, Injector, Pulse Drone and Stim Vaporizer are each tied to an achievement, alongside the Perk Cache and the detached turret |
Campaign collectibles | Three separate categories exist: Secondary Objectives, Hard Cases and Collectibles, each with its own achievement |
Progression ceiling | Player Level 100 and the first Re-Up are one achievement, and a final Re-Up that claims a set of wings is another. See Progression and Medals |
Four Horde Siege classes at launch | Siege Specialist requires max level with Assault, Breacher, Marksman and Medic. See Horde Siege Classes |

Mastery and the Headline Achievements
Two achievements sit far above the rest in value. For Whom The Bell Tolls, worth 75, asks for the campaign on Insane plus every side mission and every hidden item. Dead Serious, worth 85, is this game’s version of the series’ most notorious achievement and requires 100 percent campaign completion on Insane, 25,000 Versus kills, maximum Player Level and all four Horde Siege classes maxed. The 0-point completion achievement, The Lucky Ones Died on E-Day, unlocks once every other achievement is earned.
Four achievements are described as Mastery achievements in the progression material and each awards a Legendary Character Skin rather than only a Player Title. The rest of the customisation economy, including which items are earn-only, is on Cosmetics and Currencies.
Reading the Act Tags
Thirteen achievements carry an act tag, and they are not spread evenly: Acts 1, 2 and 3 have three each, Acts 4 and 5 have two each. That is a hint about pacing rather than a measurement of it, because the tags say nothing about how long an act runs, how many chapters it contains or where the boundaries fall.
Act | Achievements tagged to it |
|---|---|
Act 1 | Emergence Begins, We Must Improvise, The Bigger They Are… |
Act 2 | The Scorched Legion, You Want What On the Front of a Gun?!, Got to the Choppa |
Act 3 | Get Back You Eight-legged Freak, Twice the Pride, Double the Fall, …The Harder They Fall |
Act 4 | End of the Line, The Only Good Bug is a Dead Bug |
Act 5 | Nothing Left but the Fight, For My Boys |
What has been shown of the campaign structure is on Campaign Acts and Chapters, and the story framing is on Campaign.
What Is Not Confirmed
No rarity or global unlock percentages exist yet, because the game has not shipped.
The list is pre-launch. Achievement names, descriptions and point values can still change before October 6, 2026, and a day-one patch could alter them.
No separate Steam achievement list has been published. The storefront records that Steam achievements exist without itemising them.
Nothing has been published about post-launch achievement additions. Seasonal content plans are on Seasons and Post-Launch Content.
