11The Obelisk Chamber is a hidden room beneath the temple of Fortuna in Dagsion, and it is the mechanism the whole plot of Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave runs through. It is where the year 1454 touches the year 1449. Fortuna names it herself in dialogue, and she is the one who prepared it.2233Origin4455Fortuna states that the chamber was made at the progenitor god's request, in case disaster ever came to the land. Sothis is that god, and the disaster is Balor's conquest of Dagda. The room therefore predates the crisis it answers: it was built as a contingency and sat unused beneath a working temple until it was needed. Dagdan Pantheon covers the temple row it hides under.6677What It Does8899The chamber is where Eshmel is sent back. Fortuna's power over causality is the engine, and Fortuna's Blessing is the same power applied at the scale of a single battle rather than a single lifetime. Story and Plot Structure covers the sequence: Sothis calls a soul down into the ruined present, Fortuna sends it back to the Heroic Games, and the four Heroes' pasts are altered from there.10101111The Four Obelisks12121313The room holds four obelisks, one for each of the warriors who fought at the Heroic Games. Touching one reaches into that warrior's past and opens their campaign, which makes the chamber the place a route is chosen rather than a place a route passes through. Because the chamber sits in 1454, the choice is made in the present while the campaigns themselves run in 1449. Routes covers what each of the four branches contains and how they fit together.14141515That is a different job from the one the Pale Raven's Perch does. The Perch sits inside the past and is where the player swaps between Heroes during a run. The chamber is where the four are opened from in the first place, and where the present-day party is based between them.16161717As a Hub18181919In the 1454 present the chamber doubles as the party's base. Both named members of the Promised One's Army besides Eshmel were pulled out of the ruins of Dagsion and can be spoken to there afterwards: Hong Hua and Troy. That makes the chamber the counterpart of the Pale Raven's Perch, which serves the same role for the past.20202121Descend Again22222323The chamber carries an option called Descend Again, reported from hands-on coverage of a pre-launch build. Choosing it replays the prologue and creates a new Eshmel while keeping the progress already made on the four Heroes, and the difficulty setting can be changed at the same time. That is the only published route to changing difficulty after a run has started, which makes it a systems feature as much as a story one.24242525What It DoesDetailReplays the prologueThe opening sequence runs again.Creates a new EshmelBody type, appearance and name can be chosen again.Keeps route progressProgress on the four Heroes is carried over.Changes difficultyThe setting can be altered at the same time.2626One hands-on account adds that there appears to be only one save file, but the writer hedged the observation rather than stating it, so it is recorded here as unconfirmed rather than as a limitation of the game.27272828What Has Not Been Published29293030The difficulty question is settled: there are two settings, Normal and Hard. As of September 2026, no official presentation, press release or system explainer says whether Descend Again can be used more than once, or what is lost by using it. The chamber's own layout has been shown only in fragments.31313232Related Pages33333434Fortuna built the chamber and Sothis asked for it.
