Named Purifying Flash and Orchel's Strahl, recorded when the Heroes learn their first arts and the upgraded Song arts from Leda's quests; dated open gaps
11Blaze Arts are the signature new system in Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave. Nintendo's narration calls them special moves that consume your soul in exchange for power; mechanically, the price is the user's own health points. Nine characters have access to them, among them the four Heroes and Eshmel, and every previewer who played the game before launch singled them out as the standout addition. They are separate from Combat Arts, which spend weapon durability instead.2233The system got its own dedicated trailer, 54 seconds long, published on 8 August 2026 on Nintendo's British, German, French, Italian and Spanish channels, and on 11 August on the Australian channel. No North American version of that trailer was published.4455Who Has Blaze Arts667-Access runs to nine characters, and six of them have at least one art named ahead of launch. The other three are confirmed to have the command with none of their arts named yet. Each set is built around how its owner fights, so Leda's lean toward supporting the units around her while Theodora's include an attack strong enough to stand on its own.7+Access runs to nine characters, and seven of them have at least one art named on this wiki. The unit needs enough HP to pay the cost and, for the arts that need one, a target inside range. Because the choice is manual and happens on the unit's own move, an art can only go off during its owner's phase. None of them fire on a counterattack, which makes the whole system an offensive tool rather than a defensive one.14141515The Blaze Gauge16161717The loop is stated directly in published material rather than pieced together from footage: each main character has Blaze Arts of their own, performing one fills that unit’s gauge, the gauge grants benefits as it rises to about the halfway mark, and topping it out triggers a Burst that halves that unit’s maximum HP for the rest of the battle. No two characters share a set, so the arts are a character trait as much as a system.18181919Every Blaze Art costs HP, and using one fills a circular gauge attached to that unit. This is the part that is easy to get backwards: the gauge is not a resource you spend down, it is a meter that climbs as you keep using arts.202021212222Filling the gauge partway grants that unit a substantial stat boost for the remainder of the battle. Coverage of the Japanese build names that desirable half-charged state Over Blaze. Filling the gauge entirely does the opposite: it triggers a burst that halves that unit's HP for the rest of the battle and, by one account, strips away the buffs the meter had granted. So the system rewards leaning on Blaze Arts and then punishes leaning on them too hard, which is the risk-versus-reward loop previewers kept pointing at.23232424What feeds the gauge is not only the arts. Using cursed weapons and cursed items raises it too, which wires the Curse value on the weapon table straight into this system. The game's own product listing states the loop in a line: the fill grants a helpful boost up to the halfway mark, and topping it out triggers a Burst that ends every bonus and cuts the unit's maximum HP in half.25252626Blaze Types27272828Some characters carry a named variant of the gauge, called a Blaze type, that changes what feeds it. Two are documented. Eshmel and Anatolia share the Celestial Wells type, on which ordinary attacks raise the gauge while using cursed weapons or items lowers it, inverting the usual rule. Orchel's type is Automata: cursed gear does nothing to her meter, and only spending a Blaze Art fills it.29293030Each Hero's Blaze Arts are tied to a legendary artifact, and those artifacts appear to be cursed. That reading fits the new Curse column on the Weapons stat table, which shares the Blaze Arts icon, and the link is no longer speculative, because cursed gear feeds the gauge.31313232Drake's Treasures33333434Those artifacts have a name. Accounts of the finished game call them Drake's Treasures: cursed objects that carry a Blaze Art and, with it, the gauge attached to it. Each of the four Heroes holds one. Cai carries a gem set into his hand, Dietrich an ink black cape, Theodora the arm of Mahadu, and Leda a cursed vihuela named Obsidian that calls demonic beasts. Drake's Treasures covers them together.35353636Named Blaze Arts373738-The costs, ranges and effects below are read from pre-launch footage and interface captures rather than published documentation, and several arts are known only by name so far. Recommended together with Blackfire for stripping most of the shield from the boss Dagda in the Part III battle against him.41-No official English name has been published for the protagonist's Blaze Art. Several candidate names circulate in pre-launch coverage, most of them fan renderings of the Japanese. Purifying Flash is the one that keeps appearing, and as of September 2026 it rests on two independent footings rather than one: a fan database entry that carries no citation on that line, and separate hands-on coverage by writers who played the pre-launch build and recorded the name flat. That is enough to record the name and not enough to fill the table slot, because no first-party English material has used it. Treat it as the likely English name pending the shipped game.41+The protagonist's Blaze Art is named Purifying Flash in the prologue's tutorial battle, which points the player at it against enemies standing in cross formations. Before release several candidate names circulated, most of them fan renderings of the Japanese; Purifying Flash was the one that kept appearing, and it is the name the released game's tutorial gives.424243-The protagonist's gauge is drawn differently from the Heroes': a four-pointed star ringed in gentle blue, rather than the circular meter the four Heroes carry. Full Blaze gauges have also been spotted on characters outside that group, including Talimun, Orchel and Anatolia. Anatolia's meter matches the four-pointed star the protagonist carries; Orchel's is a third design marked with a gear. Two further details rest on single hands-on accounts: Leda is said to learn additional Blaze Arts by performing in Dagsion, and Blaze Arts are said to chain when several Heroes are deployed on the same team.43+The protagonist's gauge is drawn differently from the Heroes': a four-pointed star ringed in gentle blue, rather than the circular meter the four Heroes carry. Anatolia's meter matches the four-pointed star the protagonist carries; Orchel's is a third design marked with a gear. One pre-launch account also said Blaze Arts chain when several Heroes are deployed on the same team; that remains a single hands-on report.444445-Leda's route through the system is better documented than that last pair of details. Her arts are obtained by completing quests, and Song of Icewater has been shown on screen as the reward for one of them.45+Leda's arts come through her path's quests, which the released game confirms. Song of Passion arrives on her first turn in the opening battle, Song of Icewater is the reward for the Perform Quest Dance at the Tavern, and later drink-recipe quests on her path upgrade the two to Song of Icewater+ and Song of Passion+. In Part III, the tavern owner's Dance for Rebuilt Villages and Dance for Rebuilt Cities quests in Dagsion, open only if Leda was brought into that Part, raise them again to Song of Icewater++ and Song of Passion++.464647-Talimun, Orchel and Bertrand are each confirmed to have the command with no art named, so the six sets in the table above are not the finished list.47+The other Heroes pick up their first arts early too. Cai learns Underworld Burst during the battle in his first chapter, and Theodora learns her first Blaze Art one turn after she gains Mahadu's right arm and Mahadu's Spear in a cutscene during hers. Talimun and Bertrand are confirmed to have the command with no art recorded on this wiki as of September 2026, so the seven sets in the table above are not the finished list.48484949Arts That Are Not Blaze Arts50505151Several named moves in pre-launch coverage sit in neighbouring systems and are easy to mistake for Blaze Arts.
