Corrected a claim that the soundtrack is titled Nine Lives; that is the development studio's name, and listed the soundtrack tracks released so far
Ember and Blade has been shown off through a series of official trailers and gameplay videos, along with screenshots on its store page, as the studio builds toward Early Access. These materials offer the clearest look at the game's atmosphere, combat, and bosses ahead of launch. For a chronological account of how its playable builds evolved, see Demo History.
The game's first-party reveal trailer was published on the official Ember and Blade channel. It introduced the dark-fantasy premise, the immortal demon hunter Fenrix, and the game's blend of horde combat and dramatic boss duels, setting the tone for everything shown since.
Beyond the reveal, the studio has released gameplay-focused material across the game's pre-launch period, including a demo launch trailer tied to a fall 2025 fan-fest event and a later reveal trailer for a new chapter of content. These videos have showcased new stages, bosses, weapons, and the progression systems that round out the experience. The content they highlight is detailed on the Acts and Demo History pages.
In June 2026, the studio released a dedicated announcement trailer confirming that Ember and Blade is coming to PlayStation 5 alongside the PC version. The console reveal restated the survivors-like premise and the immortal hunter Fenrix, while signaling that additional consoles beyond PlayStation 5 are planned but not yet named. It is the clearest confirmation so far that the game will reach players outside of PC at launch. The current platform and release details are covered on the Release and Platforms page.
In June 2026 the studio shared early proof-of-concept footage alongside a director's note, previewing a planned rebuild of the game's combat for an upcoming demo. The footage was built using existing assets and was presented as a look at the intended direction rather than final-quality material, making it the most recent significant media beat ahead of Early Access.
The official store page hosts a set of screenshots and gameplay clips that capture the game in motion: Fenrix carving through demon hordes, sword-and-magic combat, set-piece boss encounters, and the game's atmospheric world rendered in a deliberately restrained color palette. These images give a sense of both the action and the visual direction. For the broader picture of the game, see Ember and Blade.
A third demo trailer, titled In the Darkness, an Ember Awakens, is the current headline video on the studio's game site. It sits alongside a prologue sequence broken into scenes, short clips demonstrating each of the four named combat actions, separate clips for blessings, shrines and Arcana, and boss footage for both Baphomet and Stolas.
The game has an original soundtrack of its own, released a track at a time through the official channel under the heading Tracks from the Dev Room. Ariella's Theme came first, followed by pieces for the bosses Baphomet, the Turncoat Beast and Arcanus, the Faceless, each paired with gameplay. Nine Lives, which appears alongside the score on the official site, is the name of the development studio rather than a title given to the soundtrack.
Beyond the headline trailers, the studio publishes a steady run of shorter videos on its own channel, and together they track the game's development more closely than the store page does. The table below lists the first-party videos released across 2026.
Date | Video | What It Showed |
|---|---|---|
February 2026 | Act 3 boss fight and the Gauntlet | The Act 3 encounter, gameplay with the new Gauntlet weapon, and early prototype footage of a further boss in development |
March 2026 | Spring indie showcase trailer | A gameplay trailer cut for a spring 2026 independent-games showcase, framing the game as a roguelike action RPG built on fast combat, build variety and replay-driven progression |
April 2026 | Baphomet's new attack patterns | A short built around the reworked Act 1 boss fight and its added patterns, tied to that month's demo build |
June 2026 | Official Demo Trailer #2 | The second full demo trailer, released as the updated demo went live, restating the immortal-hunter premise and the mix of bullet-hell swarms with soulslike bosses |
August 2026 | The Sanctuary Room | Keke forging weapons in the mid-run safe haven, framed as the stop to make before the next boss |
August 2026 | Combo attacks | The first footage of the combo system running in the game, following the June director's note that announced the combat rebuild |
The two August videos are the most recent material as of this writing, and they are the first look at the rebuilt combat the studio committed to in June. What that rebuild changes is covered on Combat and Demo History.
