Created Downloadable Content page covering the two paid PDF companion books, their prices, delivery method, and an explicit note that the novella is companion fiction rather than in-game canon
Solarpunk has two pieces of paid downloadable content, both released alongside the base game on June 8, 2026. Neither adds anything to the playable game. Both are digital books delivered as PDF files, produced by Cyberwave together with a book publisher and sold through the store as add-ons.
There is no gameplay DLC, no expansion, and no season pass. Everything described on the rest of this wiki is part of the base game.
Add-On | Type | Price | Released | Languages |
|---|---|---|---|---|
Solarpunk – The Lost Compass | Novella, PDF | $4.99 | June 8, 2026 | English, German, French |
Official Companion Book | Companion book, PDF | $7.99 | June 8, 2026 | English, German, French |
The Lost Compass is an original novella written by Ben Calvin Hary, a German science-fiction author who has been the lead writer of the PERRY RHODAN series since late 2024 and has written for game worlds before. It is sold as a standalone e-book add-on rather than as in-game reading material.
The story follows Riley Skye, who is stranded on a remote world fragment after a devastating storm and has to survive, gather resources and rebuild an airship while searching for her missing father and an artefact called the Solis Compass. Her journey takes her across a sphere named Aerealis. The framing of storms, drifting islands and airship travel matches the game's setting, and the publisher describes it as carrying the same sense of hope and new beginnings that defines Solarpunk.
Scope note: the novella is companion fiction published alongside the game. Riley Skye, the Solis Compass, Aerealis and the events of the story are not characters, items or locations that appear in the playable game, and none of them should be treated as in-game canon. The playable build has no named protagonist and no story quest of this kind. Where the book and the game differ, the game is what this wiki documents.
The companion book is a guide-style volume rather than fiction. It walks through the game's core elements, covering mechanics, surviving in an unfamiliar world, exploring the islands, the airship, and the possibilities of base building. It is aimed at both new players and long-time followers of the project.
Two things distinguish it from a plain manual. Each chapter is accompanied by a short story passage written by the author of The Lost Compass, and the book collects concept art produced during the game's development, showing how the world was designed. As with the novella, the story passages are companion fiction and are not in-game content.
Neither add-on installs anything into the game. Both are downloaded as PDF files into the game's own installation folder on your computer, alongside the game files. On PC the folder can be opened from the store client by right-clicking the game in the library sidebar and browsing its local files. If the game was installed to a custom directory, the book files are there instead.
Both books are currently available in English, German and French only, which is a narrower set than the fourteen languages the game itself supports at launch.
Neither add-on unlocks in-game items, cosmetics, recipes or achievements.
Neither is required to complete anything in the game.
Neither affects multiplayer; a host owning a book has no effect on the session.
Both are one-off purchases with no ongoing content schedule attached.
