Silberkreis

Added that the shipped game's own text names this district Silberstein, and updated the district table with the game's descriptions of Altenmarkt and Neustadt
Silberkreis is a district of Svartrau, the capital and only true city of Vale Sangora. The publisher's own recap of the June 2025 gameplay reveal names it directly and describes it as the wealthiest region of the valley and the one that sits closest to the castle of Greifberg. It is the quarter Coen passes through on his way into the city during that presentation.
The name is built from German components, Silber for silver and Kreis for a circle or an administrative district. That reading fits a city founded on the silver in the surrounding mountains, though the developers have not published a gloss of their own.

Svartrau is divided into named quarters, and Silberkreis sits at the top of that arrangement. Greifberg looms on the crags directly above it, which is what the proximity claim amounts to in practice: the wealthy quarter is the part of the city the castle watches most closely and the part its occupants most often move through.
District | What is documented |
|---|---|
The wealthiest quarter, closest to Greifberg, home to the rich merchants and to the nobles who submitted to Brencis. First-party. The shipped game's own text names this district Silberstein. | |
The poor quarter, the social inverse of Silberkreis, almost abandoned since the plague hit it hardest. | |
Neustadt | A relatively small Jewish district, by the game's own account, with merchants of its own. |
Altenmarkt | The market quarter in the north of the city and, by the game's own account, its most crowded part. |
The wider city is on firm ground independently of any district. Svartrau is the capital and largest settlement of the valley and the seat of Brencis's political power. It grew where it did because the surrounding mountains are rich in silver, and the slopes are pockmarked with the entrances of the Silver Mines. Svartrau Cathedral stands within the city, though no published source places the cathedral inside a named district, so this page does not put it in this one.
The finished game does not use the name this page carries. Its own description of Svartrau, in the glossary, lists four districts and gives the rich quarter as Silberstein: the district where the wealthy merchants live, along with the few nobles who bent the knee to Brencis quickly enough to be spared. The same name appears in the game's quest text, where one objective sends Coen to look for a character in the tavern in Silberstein, and one of the city's shrines carries it. Silberkreis appears to survive only in the game's internal data, on the label of that district's innkeeper.
Both names describe the same place: a silver quarter for the wealthy beside the castle. The reveal-era name comes from the publisher's June 2025 recap, and the shipped name from the game's own text, relayed by two independent databases of its strings and by walkthrough shrine lists. This page keeps its title for now; players of the shipped game should expect to see Silberstein.
The 2025 presentation ran the same stretch of city twice, once by day and once after dark, and the district is the approach to both. By day the streets are populated and public, with conversations running in the open that a player can walk into. After dark the city empties, merchants shut up, residents sleep, and patrols move through, while rooftops and hidden ways become usable. Coen reaches the cathedral by climbing it on the night route, using traversal abilities that are unavailable to him in daylight.
A murohn, one of the failed vampires created when a vrakhiri fang lodges somewhere other than the victim's heart, is documented in the cathedral complex in the same build, and the shipped game confirms a murohn in the almshouse attached to the cathedral.
The district's wealth is not only scenery. Rising infamy tightens the regime's grip on the whole valley, and the quarter beneath the castle sits inside that same escalation: heavier patrols, edicts read out at sunrise and, at the extreme, a lockdown of the whole city. See Notoriety System for how that escalation works, and Brencis for who orders it.
Two things about the district remain undocumented rather than disputed.
Whether the change from Silberkreis to Silberstein was a deliberate rename or a late change the reveal recap predates. The studio has not commented as of September 2026.
Community accounts describe curfews that restrict access to traders inside the wealthy quarter specifically. Curfews as a regime response are documented; their being district-specific is not.
One further caveat belongs on the record. The first-party source for this district is a pre-launch gameplay-reveal recap from June 2025. It confirms the name and its place in the world; it is not a statement about how the district looks or functions in the shipped 1.0 build.
See Svartrau for the city as a whole, Greifberg for the castle above it, and The Middens for the quarter at the other end of the city's social range.
