October 23, 2026 at 01:17 PM
Added quest requirements, route and rewards
A Study in Crimson follows Vicho through a murder investigation across Svartrau. The initial case ends with Doctor Simeon, but the later Good Samaritan quest reopens questions about Vicho himself.
Detail | Requirement |
|---|---|
Start | Enter Vicho's Emporium in northern Svartrau at night, west of Market Tower. Reach its upper balcony with Shadowstep. |
Other lead | Lacra marks Vicho's location after Hive and Seek. City rumors can also point toward the shop. |
Time | Keep at least 4 segments of the night free. Otherwise Vicho asks Coen to return the following evening. |
Stage | What to do |
|---|---|
Meet Vicho | Go downstairs from the balcony entrance and through the left door. Follow him across the roofs and streets to the Jeweller's House. |
Jeweller's clues | Inspect Devora upstairs in the left room and Eli in the basement. Both corpses are needed. Take the Jeweller's Key after Eli to open the chest beneath the stairs. |
The soldiers | Return to Vicho outside. Low Infamy permits a cordial reply, or a 200 Denarii payment for burial. High Infamy causes a fight. |
Doctor's keys | Enter the shed with the Doctor's Spare Key. Search the table and upper-left book stack for the house key, then enter the main building. |
Doctor's documents | Read the Patient Notes between the doors and the Property Deed in the upstairs room on the right. Return to Vicho once both are found. |
Warehouse entry | The main door is inaccessible. Go behind the building, climb the stable and Shadowstep to the balcony. |
Doctor Simeon | Descend to the basement and defeat Simeon with Vicho's help. Speak with Vicho afterward to finish the initial investigation. |
During the next daytime period, The Good Samaritan becomes available. Completing it can reopen A Study in Crimson and the confrontation over Vicho's condition. His survival then depends on the conversation and continued blood deliveries; see Dialogue Choices.
250 XP and 1 skill point for the initial investigation.
