Added A Lone Wolf's Hunt walkthrough and decisions
A Lone Wolf's Hunt is the solo assault on Greifberg Castle. It can be started after the prologue without bringing Lacra or Crake. The quest itself lists no time cost and permits day or night approaches, although climbing the walls requires the night form.
Approach | Requirement |
|---|---|
Scale the wall | At night, aim Shadowstep at a suitable castle wall and use Planeshift to reach the top. |
Side-gate key | Defeat Gheorghe, the Rabid Duke, at Racovitza's Bandit Camp east of St. Tyna's Grove. Use his key at the southeastern gate. |
Help him through the questline beginning with In the Name of the Father to obtain assistance at the side entrance. |
Each approach leads through defenders and an Unblinking Blasphemy. The castle gives a point-of-no-return warning, so finish equipment preparation and other quests before proceeding.
Clear the entrance and face Ambrus if he remains alive. Continue through the steel gate and the small library. Unless Xanthe was spared, escape her looping curse by clearing enemies, moving the first bookshelf left of the stairs and dropping through the pits in each newly opened room.
Continue to the small church, then descend toward the dungeons. Living boyars can block the route; Bakir's section is followed by Beldam and his soldiers. After another gargoyle, follow the prison and cavern ramps to the ruins and Brencis's chamber. Earlier defeats remove the corresponding boyars from these encounters.
Decision | Outcome |
|---|---|
Choose a sword-marked reply and fight | Defeat both of Brencis's phases for The Folk Hero. |
Negotiate for the family | If an ally's location is known through sufficient quest progress, Coen can offer Lacra or the Manumit hideout instead. Betrayal leads to The Turncoat and the betrayed ally's loss. |
After defeating Brencis, leaving him in Anachora or inviting him into Coen's mind does not change the rescue outcome. The invitation adds his commentary during the epilogue. The family's condition still reflects earlier events and whether the rescue deadline was met.
