The "Ziggurat" name is shared with the Ziggurat Cloth Helm, suggesting these pieces may originate from the same region or faction within Pywel. However, the two pieces belong to different armor weight classes: the Ziggurat Cloth Helm is cloth (granting Ice Resistance), while the Ziggurat Leather Armor is leather (granting Lightning Resistance).

At 5 DEF, the Ziggurat Leather Armor offers nearly double the protection of entry-level leather chest pieces (3 DEF). Combined with its Lightning Resistance Lv. 1, it provides a solid balance of physical and elemental defense for mid-game content.

Abyss Gears

The Ziggurat Leather Armor does not include Abyss Gear sockets by default. Players who want Abyss Gear customization on their chest armor should consider the Blackwing Leather Armor or the Leather Armor of the Fallen Kingdom, both of which offer Abyss Core sockets alongside higher defense.

How to Obtain

The Ziggurat Leather Armor can be acquired through standard gameplay progression. Common methods for obtaining leather chest armor in Crimson Desert include:

• Vendors: Equipment merchants in cities and settlements throughout Pywel stock various armor pieces. Check vendor inventories regularly as you visit new regions and progress the story.

• Treasure chests: Explore dungeons, ruins, caves, and hidden areas across the open world. Mid-tier armor is commonly found in treasure chests located in more challenging areas.

• Crafting: Leather armor can be crafted at a Blacksmith once the appropriate crafting manual has been examined. The Ziggurat Leather Armor may be unlocked through one of the "Leather Armors of the World" volumes.

Comparison with Other Leather Chest Armor

The Ziggurat Leather Armor occupies the mid-tier bracket among leather body armor options. Below is a comparison across the defense range.

The Ziggurat Leather Armor shares its 5 DEF tier with the Duskfang Leather Armor. Both provide the same defensive stats. The next meaningful upgrade is the Leather Armor of the Fallen Kingdom at 7 DEF, which can be found in the Frozen Soul Cave through a waterfall passage.

Related Ziggurat Equipment

The Ziggurat name appears on at least one other armor piece in the game:

• Ziggurat Cloth Helm (Headgear, Cloth): A cloth headgear piece with Ice Resistance. Since it is cloth rather than leather, it complements a mixed-resistance loadout rather than stacking with the Ziggurat Leather Armor's Lightning Resistance.

Players can equip both the Ziggurat Cloth Helm and the Ziggurat Leather Armor simultaneously. This combination provides Ice Resistance from the cloth helm and Lightning Resistance from the leather armor, covering two elemental damage types at once.

Refinement

The Ziggurat Leather Armor can be refined at a Blacksmith to increase its base defense. Starting at 5 DEF, refinement can push it closer to the defense values of higher-tier leather armor. • The Ziggurat Leather Armor is a strong mid-game upgrade over the 3 DEF starter leather chest pieces. Equip it as soon as you find or craft it.

• Pair the Ziggurat Leather Armor with the Ziggurat Cloth Helm for dual elemental coverage: Lightning Resistance from the armor and Ice Resistance from the helm.

• Refining this armor before tackling mid-game dungeons and boss fights is recommended, as the defense gains from refinement are more impactful on mid-tier gear.

• Look to upgrade to the Leather Armor of the Fallen Kingdom (7 DEF) or the Blackwing Leather Armor (12 DEF) once you reach the mid-to-late chapters.
