Comprehensive treasure map guide with all 12 pieces, solutions, and rewards
Hidden Treasure Map Pieces are collectible parchments scattered across Pywel in Crimson Desert. Each piece shows a hand-drawn sketch of a specific location, and players must interpret the visual clues to track down the hidden treasure. There are 12 known Hidden Treasure Map Pieces in the game. None of them appear as markers on your map, so finding both the map pieces themselves and the treasures they point to requires careful exploration and environmental awareness.
The rewards from treasure maps tend to be high-quality armor pieces and valuable consumables that are difficult to obtain through other means. Several pieces belong to named armor sets like the Scorchflame, Autumn Banquet, Blackwing, Frozen Heart, and Golden Greed sets. Solving all 12 treasure maps is a significant step toward completing your gear collection and achieving full map completion.
When you pick up a Hidden Treasure Map Piece, it appears in your inventory as a Key Item that cannot be sold. Examining the map reveals a sketch depicting the area around a marked treasure location. The sketch typically shows recognizable terrain features such as cliffs, buildings, rivers, or mountain silhouettes, but it does not name the location or provide any text directions.
Your job is to match the drawing to a real place on the continent. Once you arrive at the correct spot, the treasure is usually hidden behind an environmental obstacle. You may need to use Force Palm to break through a wall, perform a Pierce attack to pass through a waterfall, defeat a boss guarding a secret room, or push a movable object like a bookshelf to reveal a hidden chamber.
Treasure maps can be found in a variety of places: sitting on tables inside abandoned buildings, placed on stone altars in remote shrines, tucked inside crypts, or dropped after defeating certain bosses. There is no fixed order in which you must collect them. You can pick up Piece 12 before Piece 1 if you happen to explore that area first.
The table below summarizes all 12 Hidden Treasure Map Pieces. Each row lists where to find the map, where the treasure is located, and the confirmed reward. Scroll down for detailed walkthroughs of each piece.

Map Location: The first Hidden Treasure Map Piece is inside a white tent at Bellanor Beacon, located south of Drakesfall Gorge. Enter the tent and take the parchment from the table. The sketch on the map depicts a waterfall concealing a cave entrance.
Solution: Travel southeast of the Hills of No Return and look for a waterfall. Glide down slowly into the gap between the waterfall and the cliff face to find a cave entrance. The wall you need to look for has a green leaf on it as a visual marker. Inside the cave, you will encounter the Grave Walker, a boss that must be defeated before you can reach the treasure. Fill its yellow stun meter by attacking repeatedly or using Force Palm, and when it collapses, strike its separated pieces to deal heavy damage. After defeating it, punch through the hidden wall to access the secret room with the chest.
Reward: Scorchflame Plate Cloak and a Refined Palmar Pill. The cloak provides Fire Resistance Level 3, making it extremely useful against fire-based enemies and in volcanic areas.
Map Location: Head north of the letter D in Demeniss on the world map, next to Drakesfall Gorge. The map piece is found at this location.
Solution: The treasure map points to the Everfrost Cave, located southwest of the H in Hernand on your map. The cave is south of Frostclaw Cave in the Everfrost region. Make your way inside and locate the treasure chest.
Reward: Plate Gloves of the Shadows. These gloves are part of the Armor of the Shadows set, providing both offensive and mobility bonuses useful in early-to-mid game progression.
Map Location: Go a little northwest from the letter D in Demeniss on the world map. At this location, you will find a house on fire with dead soldiers lying outside and inside. The map piece is on a table inside the burning house.
Solution: The map points to the Gate of Peace in Gorthak. Once you arrive, go in through the main gate and follow the flight of stairs all the way down until you reach a room with a bookshelf at the far end. Push the bookshelf to reveal a hidden room behind it. The treasure chest is inside this secret chamber.
Reward: The chest contains valuable equipment. Some guides associate this location with the Plate Gloves of the Shadows, though the Everfrost Cave from Piece 2 is also connected to that same armor piece. Both locations are part of the broader Shadows armor set collection.
Map Location: The fourth map piece is inside a small hut in the northern part of Paloon. The parchment is lying on the floor inside the hut. The sketch on the map points toward a tower.
Solution: The tower depicted on the map is in the region above Demeniss on your map. Once you reach the area, look for a small wooden plank or board on the ground. The treasure is hidden behind it. You can either slide underneath the board or make your way around to the gap behind the fence to reach the chest.
Reward: A treasure chest containing equipment and consumables.
Map Location: To the northwest of Demeniss, there is a lake with a crescent-shaped island. The map piece sits on a stone altar on this island. Head north from the Golden Exchange area until you reach the lake.
Solution: The treasure is near the same lake. Go north toward the waterfalls at the edge of Crescent Lake. The chest is hidden inside a cave behind the far left waterfall. You cannot simply walk through the water; switch to combat stance and use a Thrust attack to slip through the cascade and enter the cave.
Reward: Autumn Banquet Leather Boots and two improved Palmara bonuses. The boots are part of the Autumn Banquet armor set.
Map Location: This map piece is obtained after defeating Marnie's Excavatron. After the fight, look to the right from where the boss entered the arena. You will see an entrance blocked by wooden panels. Break through the wood and enter the space behind it to find the chest containing the map piece.
Solution: The map points to the Silvermoon Tradehouse. Travel to the location shown on the map and use Force Palm to flip the wall. This reveals a hidden room on the other side containing the treasure chest.
Reward: A treasure chest with equipment and consumables.
Map Location: Despite its number, Piece 7 is often the first treasure map most players discover. It is found south of the Church of Hernand, sitting inside a miniature castle structure on a lower elevation near the church wall. The map shows a distinctive arch.
Solution: The arch depicted on the map belongs to Delesyia Castle in the Delesyia region on the far eastern side of Pywel. This is a long journey across the continent. Once you reach the castle, find the arch that matches the sketch on your map. Push through the hidden wall behind the arch to access the vault containing the treasure chest.
Reward: Frozen Heart Plate Armor. This is a powerful chest armor piece that provides cold resistance and strong defensive stats.
Map Location: Travel east of Hernand, a little southwest of Rocca's Hill. The map piece is inside a small dilapidated house. You will find it on a stone table alongside ritual items. A memory fragment is also accessible here if you use the Visione Helm.
Solution: The map depicts an altar that corresponds to St. Halssius's House of Healing, located east of Rocca's Hill. When you arrive, exit the healing house and locate a ladder on the left side of the building. Climb onto the roof and navigate to a platform that looks distinctly different from the surrounding rooftop. Crouch on this platform, aim downward, and use Force Palm to activate a rotating mechanism. The floor will flip, dropping you into a lower level containing the treasure chest.
Reward: Blackwing Leather Boots. A solid piece of leather armor that works well for agility-focused builds.
Map Location: Head to Whisperleaf Ruins, which is next to the Silver Wolf Mountains in Pailune. At this location, you will find a pathway resembling a cave entrance on the right side. Take the pathway and look to the left, where you will see a coffin with a skeleton. The map piece is next to the skeleton.
Solution: The map points to a location a little south of the Silver Wolf Mountains. Once you arrive, look for a crater at the bottom of the terrain with a large boulder sitting inside it. Use Force Palm to shatter the boulder, which opens up a cave entrance underneath. Go inside the cave to find the treasure chest.
Reward: A treasure chest containing equipment.
Map Location: This map piece is found north of Hernand, in the area near the Haunted Hills. The exact pickup location is a building in this region.
Solution: The community is still documenting the full solution for this treasure map. Based on the sketch, the treasure appears to be located in a ruin or castle structure, but the precise destination and required interactions have not been fully confirmed across multiple sources. Check back for updates as more players verify the solution.
Reward: Not yet confirmed.
Map Location: Go straight north between the letters E and M of Demeniss on the world map, east from the Kingshield Mountains. You will find a house at this location with the map piece sitting on a table.
Solution: The map points to the Bursada Castle Ruins in Tashkalp, the southeastern region of the Crimson Desert. Once you reach the ruins, head north through the large door just before the stairs going upward, then take a left to find a long corridor. At the end of this corridor, use Force Palm to break open the wall. This reveals a hidden room on the other side containing the treasure chest.
Reward: Golden Greed Plate Armor. This is a highly sought-after chest armor piece and part of the Golden Greed armor set.
Map Location: The twelfth and final Hidden Treasure Map Piece is found on top of a small, unmarked shrine in the northern part of Demeniss. The shrine is positioned quite a distance out from the main paths, just below the Triangle Ring shown on the Abyss Map.
Solution: After picking up the map, the sketch points toward a waterfall area. Travel to the depicted location and look for a cave hidden behind the waterfall. Unlike some other waterfall caves, you cannot walk through the water. Switch to combat stance and use a Pierce attack to cut through the cascade and enter the cave. The treasure chest is immediately visible once you pass through.
Reward: A treasure chest containing equipment and consumables.
Several treasure maps require specific combat abilities or items to access the hidden treasure. If you reach a treasure location but cannot interact with it, you may need to progress further in the story or unlock the required ability first.
Ability | Used For | Map Pieces |
|---|---|---|
Breaking through hidden walls, flipping floor mechanisms, shattering boulders | 2, 6, 8, 9, 11 | |
Pierce / Thrust Attack | Passing through waterfalls to reach caves hidden behind cascading water | 5, 12 |
Combat (Boss Fight) | Defeating the Grave Walker boss guarding the secret room | 1 |
Environmental Interaction | Pushing bookshelves, sliding under boards, breaking wooden panels | 3, 4, 6 |
Viewing memory fragments at map locations (optional, not required for treasure) | 8 |
Treasure map pieces are Key Items that cannot be sold or dropped. Once picked up, they remain in your inventory permanently until you find the corresponding treasure.
The sketches on each map are hand-drawn representations of the landscape. Pay close attention to terrain silhouettes, building outlines, and natural landmarks like rivers and mountains.
There is no required order for collecting the maps. You can tackle them in any sequence based on which regions you have already explored.
If you are stuck interpreting a map, try comparing the sketch to your world map from different zoom levels. Some maps depict large-scale geographic features that are easier to recognize when zoomed out.
Force Palm is the single most important ability for treasure hunting. Make sure it is unlocked before attempting maps 2, 6, 8, 9, and 11.
Several treasure maps lead to pieces of named armor sets. If you are collecting a specific set like the Armor of the Shadows or Golden Greed, check the individual set article for the full list of piece locations.
Waterfalls hide more than just treasure map caves. While exploring, try using a Pierce attack on any waterfall you encounter to check for hidden passages.
