Equipping the Tarivian Necklace in the neck slot grants the Second Wind passive. When the wearer is critically wounded, the magic stored inside the necklace spends itself to revive the player and fully restore health. In practice this functions as an extra life during combat, which is especially valuable for players who are out of Parma pills or attempting tougher encounters without a safety net.
The revive runs on a cooldown: roughly thirty minutes of real time must pass before Second Wind is available again. Because of that long cooldown, the necklace is best saved for difficult fights where a single death would otherwise force a full reload.
The necklace is not purchased or earned through a quest reward. It has to be stolen from a locked strongbox inside a specific building in the town of Immen Hill, which sits near Hernand on the map. Story progression is not strictly required to reach Immen Hill, but the town may be hostile if arrived at too early in the campaign.
Because the strongbox counts as stolen property, wearing a mask during the theft is important. Masks can be looted from bandits or bought from the vendor in Hernand. The same vendor also sells the set of three keys that make entering the building far easier. Purchasing both a mask and the key bundle in advance keeps the heist clean.
Mask: loot from a bandit or buy from the Hernand vendor. Prevents crime ID during the theft.
Keys (x3): sold by the same Hernand vendor. Used to unlock the back door of the target building in Immen Hill.
From Immen Hill's fast travel point, head to the target building marked on the map. The back door accepts the vendor key, and while climbing through a window may also work, the key method is the simplest and least likely to cause an alert. Once inside, follow the corridor around the corner until a bookshelf comes into view. Interacting with the bookshelf reveals a hidden area where the strongbox is stored.
The strongbox is protected by a musical-note puzzle that must be played in a fixed order. Four note positions matter: number them 1 to 4 across the visible grid. The unlock sequence is:
Press the first note.
Press the note directly underneath it.
Press the next note to the right.
Press the note underneath that one.
Finish with the note on the left-hand side.
Keep the lantern raised while solving the puzzle, since the candle in the room can be extinguished and leave the grid hard to read. Once the strongbox opens, lift the lantern to highlight the necklace, then steal it.
Do not leave the room while the stolen-goods crime indicator is still lit. Wait for the flag to clear before moving through the main building, otherwise guards or residents can spot the stolen item and trigger a bust. Once the indicator fades, exit the way you came in and the Tarivian Necklace stays safely in the inventory.
Because Second Wind only fires on a critical wound and then rolls a thirty minute cooldown, it pairs well with players who run a single long fight per session rather than many short skirmishes. For exploration and quick clear runs, other necklaces with uptime-based effects are usually more efficient. Save the Tarivian Necklace for boss attempts, faction elite fights, and risky content where a second life has the highest payoff.
