Six Statues and the Beast is the fourth sub-chapter of Chapter 9: The Sage of the Desert in Crimson Desert. It is the longest sub-chapter in the chapter, spanning six quests that send Kliff deep into Jijeong Temple, a sacred site in the Serpent Marsh where six ancient pensive statues stand as spiritual sentinels. The statues have been damaged, and restoring them is a prerequisite for the trials that follow.
The sub-chapter moves through a clear progression: investigate the temple (Morning Fog), repair the statues (Jijeong Temple in Chaos), report to the chief monk (Path to Enlightenment), complete three training trials (Path of the Disciple), defeat the temple's guardian (True Strength), and then undertake a solo spiritual ascent (Face the Inner Self). The section ends with an Abyss sequence that transitions the story into the Veiled Witch sub-chapter.
Quest | Type | Key Task |

Exploration / Abyss | Ascend to the Jijeong Temple Pagoda summit, enter the Abyss Gate |
After completing the Thinning Blade sub-chapter, another stone tablet becomes readable inside the Cloister of Enlightenment. This one opens the Six Statues and the Beast questline. The tablet directs Kliff to an island in the Serpent Marsh, located at the southern end of Demeniss. The island sits at a slightly elevated position, so the fastest route is to glide from a nearby highland and use smaller marsh islands along the way to recover stamina before reaching the main one. Speaking with the monk present on the island completes Morning Fog and begins Jijeong Temple in Chaos.
Three pensive statues around Jijeong Temple have been damaged, with their stone hands missing. Each hand is marked on the minimap with a white hand icon. Repairs use two Axiom abilities: Axiom Force (L3 on controller / Tab on keyboard) to pick up and carry pieces, and Force Palm (R3 / Mouse Wheel) to snap them into place once a green glow confirms the correct position.
Both hands are on the same island as the statue. One hand sits directly across from the statue in the direction it faces, and the other is nearby to the side. Use Axiom Force to carry each hand close to the statue, wait for the green glow to appear, then activate Force Palm to lock it in. This statue introduces the mechanic at its simplest, with minimal traversal required.
This statue requires three pieces and is the most complex repair. Climb the stairs to the mountaintop where the statue stands. The body piece is on the cliff below; carry it up using Axiom Force and orient it toward the two torches to set the correct facing. Climb onto the body piece and use Force Palm from that elevated angle to lock it onto the pedestal. The right hand is on the cliff directly left of the statue. The left hand is further down the cliffside: stand at the edge, shoot Axiom Force downward to hook it, pull it upward, and snap it when the green glow appears.
Located near water in a small cave section. Access the cave from a central island slightly north of the objective marker, then glide to the stairs leading to the cave entrance. Both hands are on nearby cliffs above the cave floor. Use Axiom Force to pull them toward you, they float rather than fall, so bring each one into range, wait for the green glow, and snap them into place. If Force Palm fails on the first attempt, try using Focused Force Palm from a distance or climb onto the statue's legs for a closer angle.
After restoring all three statues, the chief monk has moved to the top of a marked isle rather than returning to the temple. Use the fast travel point near the temple to return quickly, then climb to the summit and speak with the monk.
A short quest consisting of a single dialogue. After repairing the pensive statues, find the chief monk at the altar on the mountaintop isle (the fast travel point activated after the statue repairs points here). Speak with the monk to confirm the statues have been restored. No combat or additional tasks are required. This conversation unlocks Path of the Disciple.
The chief monk marks three training grounds on the map, each located on high ground around Jijeong Temple. The grounds are wooden gate structures positioned on mountain peaks, and each is a timed parkour trial where Kliff must collect green orbs before time runs out without falling. The three grounds can be completed in any order.
The time limits are generous, typically leaving 15 to 20 seconds to spare on a clean run. Take each trial slowly, prioritize landing safely over speed, and only attempt riskier jumps when confident of the footing. At the end of each completed trial, an artifact sits waiting to be collected. Collecting all three artifacts completes Path of the Disciple automatically.
With the three training grounds cleared, Kliff is summoned to meet T'rukan the Ascended at the location of the first repaired pensive statue. Returning to that spot triggers a cutscene that begins the boss encounter immediately.
T'rukan wears a Leopard Mask and fights with unarmed strikes. He carries a single health bar but lands attacks with exceptional speed. Despite the intensity, he has comparatively low total health, so the fight often ends faster than expected once a consistent pattern is established.
Rapid Unarmed Combo: A sequence of fast punches and kicks delivered in quick succession. Wait for the full combo to end, then counterattack with heavy strikes before backing away.
Spirit Surge (Purple Glow): T'rukan slows briefly and a purple glow surrounds him, then he summons a spectral version of his spirit animal. Maintain distance during this phase and wait for the summon to dissipate before re-engaging.
Purple Projectiles: He fires projectiles during the spirit phase. Either block and heal simultaneously, or dodge sideways to avoid the volley entirely.
The recommended approach is shield counters: block an incoming combo and immediately counter to break his guard, then land one or two follow-up combos. Heavy attacks first, then a light combo sequence before he resets. If blocking timing is difficult, dodge behind him instead, let the combo pass, then counterattack from his back. Heal immediately after any successful hit on Kliff rather than waiting.
Minimum recommended preparation: passive Health Skill at level 6 (for at least 750 HP), weapons and armor at refinement level 6 or higher. The Tauria Curved Sword performs well in this fight due to its attack speed.
Defeating T'rukan triggers a short cutscene, after which walking to the gate in the boss arena reveals a blue artifact. Collecting it completes True Strength.
The final quest of the sub-chapter sends Kliff to the summit of the highest peak in South Demeniss. Rather than climbing from the base, glide from Serpent Marsh toward the southwestern mountain and aim for the upper ridgeline. The mountain has climbable rock faces on its south and west sides. The objective completes automatically when Kliff gets close enough to the summit, so keep ascending until it registers.
At the peak, a small pagoda temple stands with one accessible entrance. Inside, interact with the Abyss Gate to trigger an Abyss sequence. A fast travel point (Ascetic's Rest Abyss) activates immediately upon entering the Abyss realm. Navigate through the flooded cave by taking the right path, proceed upstairs to the area's top, and watch the cutscene featuring the boy that ends the sub-chapter. The next quest, Fragments of Darkness, begins afterward.

For the statue repairs, trust the green glow. The game auto-aligns pieces when they are in the correct position, so position the piece roughly near the attachment point and wait rather than trying to manually line it up.
For Statue 2's body piece, facing it toward the two torches is the key alignment cue. Once the piece faces that direction, climbing onto it and using Force Palm from close range reliably completes the attachment.
The Path of the Disciple trials have generous timers. Attempting them slowly on the first run is almost always sufficient to complete them without needing a retry.
Upgrade armor to refinement level 6 before facing T'rukan. The speed of his combo strings leaves little room to heal if Kliff has low maximum health.
For Face the Inner Self, gliding from an elevated point in Serpent Marsh rather than climbing from the base saves several minutes of traversal time.
