Pure White Dye

Append detailed Rig Restart Puzzle steps from transcript mc8bECj_roY.

Pure White Dye is one of the ten rare uncraftable grayscale dyes in Crimson Desert. It produces a brilliant white color when applied to equipment at any Dyehouse. Because it cannot be crafted at a Cauldron, it must be purchased from a Provisioner vendor that appears only after completing a multi-step quest chain in the Delissia region.
Pure White Dye is among the most coveted colors in the game. When combined with the Glossy Finish material (purchased from the vendor in Hernand) on gear at repair level 100, it produces a distinctive silvery metallic shine rather than a flat white color. This combination is extremely popular for creating knightly or paladin-style appearances.

Obtaining the Pure White Dye requires completing a faction quest chain in the Delissia region. The process involves clearing enemies from a drilling rig, solving a mechanical puzzle to restore power, and waiting for a vendor to appear in the nearby village of Tinkerton.
Travel to Marni's Drilling Rig: The drilling rig is located in the far bottom-right of the map in the Delissia region, situated on an island. When you arrive, you will find it occupied by a hostile faction of Machina Knights who have blockaded the path.
Clear Out the Enemies: Defeat all robot guard enemies controlling the drilling rig. This is a faction quest encounter with multiple waves of enemies, so come prepared with healing items and upgraded gear.
Enter Through the Sewer Panel: After clearing the exterior, locate the sewer access panel on the ground. Stand on the circular panel, crouch, and interact with it (punch with R3) to drop into the interior of the drilling rig.
Repair the Factory: Inside the rig you must solve a mechanical puzzle to restore power. The repair process involves several steps: connect two loose cables to their sockets, operate the levers in sequence to route power, use Nature's Grasp on three heavy crates to move them into position, punch the buttons around the central machine to activate circuits, and finally turn on the main machine to restore full power to the rig.
Complete "Light Restored to Tinkerton": Once the drilling rig is reactivated, the quest continues as Light Restored to Tinkerton. This restores power to the nearby village of Tinkerton. Deliver the good news to the local NPC (Cordelia) to complete the quest.
Reset the Area: Fast travel to a nearby campfire or pass time to reset the area. When you return, new NPCs will have populated both the drilling rig and Tinkerton.
Buy Pure White Dye: A Provisioner vendor named Wilmer now appears at Tinkerton. He sells Pure White Dye for 15 silver. Purchase it and take it to any Dyehouse to apply. Oliver's Dyehouse at the Greymane Camp is the most convenient option since it can apply any dye color regardless of region.
The mission that unlocks Wilmer's inventory is the Fading Tinkerton quest, shown in-game under the label "Flickering Starlight." It is offered by the Blackwater Oil Merchant Guild, the faction that runs Marni's Drilling Rig out on the eastern edge of the region. The chain flows into Reactivate the Drilling Rig and finishes with Light Restored to Tinkerton, at which point Cordelia thanks you in person. After that final conversation, fast travel away from Tinkerton and return: the provisioner shop's stock only refreshes on a world reload, not on a timed trigger.
If you are still working through the wider dye system, the How to Get White Dye guide walks through every option for producing a white or near-white finish, and How to Dye Equipment covers the Dyehouse interface once you have the color in hand.
The Fading Tinkerton quest becomes available around Chapter 6 to 8 of the main quest. It is part of the Blackwater Oil Merchant Guild faction, based in the Delissia region.
There are two ways to start the quest chain:
Talk to Cordelia in Timberton: Timberton is the small town southwest of Delizia Castle (the City of Steel). Speak with Cordelia to pick up the initial quest.
Liberate Marni's Drilling Rig directly: Travel to Marni's Drilling Rig on the southeast border of the map. The rig is occupied by hostile robots. These enemies are weak to lightning damage, so equip lightning-element gear or skills before engaging.
After purchasing the Pure White Dye from the Timberton provisioner, use it from your inventory to permanently unlock it for all Dyehouse vendors. Pure White is classified as a Heidelian dye, which means the first dye merchant who can apply it is Theoric, located southeast of Heidel Castle.
Alternatively, the universal dye PC at Greymane Camp in Howling Hill can apply any dye regardless of region, including Pure White Dye. This is the most convenient option if you have already progressed far enough to use the camp's facilities.
Combining Pure White Dye with Glossy Finish material on equipment at repair level 100 gives your gear a distinctive silvery metallic shine, rather than a flat white color. The Glossy Finish material is available from the vendor in Hernand.
Pure White Dye is a one-time purchase, so save it for your best late-game equipment rather than applying it to gear you will replace soon.
The factory puzzle inside Marni's Drilling Rig can be confusing on the first attempt. Follow the cable paths visually to understand which lever controls which circuit.
Pure White and Black Dye together on different dye zones of the same armor piece create a striking high-contrast knightly aesthetic using per-section dyeing.
If Wilmer does not appear at Tinkerton after completing the quest, try fast traveling farther away and then returning, or wait a full in-game day cycle.
The Blackwater drilling rig restart is the longest single step in the Pure White Dye quest chain. The puzzle is part of the Blackwater Oil Merchant Guild quest and uses several of your traversal abilities. Track the quest in your journal before starting, otherwise some interactions may not register.
Liberate the rig by defeating every enemy on the platform.
Pick up an oil barrel and carry it to the highlighted socket. Use Force Palm to slot the barrel fully into place.
Turn the two cogs to the right of the socket by pressing right on the D-pad. Both cogs must be locked before the next stage activates.
Ride the lift up to the upper platform.
Kick the button at the top of the lift to reveal two levers, then pull both.
Drop down onto the panel floor, crouch, and use Force Palm on the floor to smash through to the level below.
Fix both electrical circuits in the lower room.
A lever becomes active behind you. Pull it to open a blocked door.
Use Nature's Grasp to clear the foliage blocking the doorway and pass through to the main engine room.
Drop into the engine room. Four large screws surround the central engine.
Jump on top of each screw in turn, then use Force Palm while standing on it to drive it into place.
Repeat for all four screws. When the last one locks, the rig stage of the quest is complete.
Travel to the map marker and speak with Cordelia to end the quest. After the dialogue ends, fast travel to another location and then run back to Cordelia's area. The NPC vendor who sells Pure White Dye only spawns after this reload. Once he appears, buy the dye from him. To actually apply the color, visit the Dyehouse in Heidel, since the Heidel dyer is the one who accepts pure white.
