Paddlefish

Paddlefish is a fish species in Starsand Island. It is a King fish, one of six rare high-value variants that require a strong fishing rod (Noble Rod or higher) to land. Rivers run through Hopeland, Starsand Town, and the surrounding areas.

How to Catch

Paddlefish is a King fish. Use the Noble Rod or higher; the Wooden Rod and Chrono Rod will snap when Paddlefish bites. Equip Bug Bait, Veggie Bait and chum the water during the catch window (06:00-22:00). Wait for a fish shadow, cast onto it, and reel carefully when the line goes red.

Pond Breeding

Paddlefish requires 5 oxygen units of pond capacity. The Small Fish Pond and Stone Fish Pond hold 12 oxygen each, and the Medium Fish Pond holds 40. Plan stocking carefully to avoid exceeding capacity.

As a King fish, Paddlefish placed in a pond can produce eggs that hatch into sellable fish, providing a passive high-value income stream.

Tips

• Use Hooked on Fate. This Workpedia perk lets you catch ocean fish even without visible shadows. Critical for King fish in zones where shadows can be sparse.

• Activate Rare Bites for daytime King runs. This perk increases the rare-catch rate during daytime fishing windows.

• Sell vs cook vs pond. At 733g, Paddlefish is highly profitable to sell at the Merchant Ship for 200% value.

• Track time and weather. Open the Phone Apps to check weather forecasts. Some fish only spawn under specific conditions, and missing the window means waiting for the next cycle.
