Initial version: comprehensive Oongka skills reference with all three branches, priorities, and combos
Oongka is one of three playable characters in Crimson Desert, alongside Kliff and Damiane. A half-human, half-orc warrior and powerhouse of the Greymanes, Oongka specializes in raw physical strength, wielding greataxes, hammers, and hand cannons with devastating effect. His skill tree reflects this brawler identity, with a heavy emphasis on grappling moves, ground slams, and wide-arc melee attacks that hit multiple enemies at once.
Oongka's skills are unlocked through Abyss Artifacts, by observing enemies using certain techniques during combat, or by meeting specific story conditions. Each skill can be equipped and activated through button combinations. Some skills can be enhanced multiple times to increase their level, which unlocks inner skills (sub-abilities) that modify or extend the parent skill.
Oongka's skill tree is divided into three color-coded branches, each tied to one of the three core stats. The branches function independently, and Abyss Artifacts spent in one branch do not affect the others. Note that stat upgrades to Health, Stamina, and Spirit carry over to all characters, but each character's skill tree must be invested in separately.
Blue Branch (Stamina): The largest branch, covering armed combat, unarmed combat, grappling techniques, weapon skills, and ranged evasion. Most of Oongka's core combat abilities live here.
Red Branch (Health): Covers elemental imbuing, elemental attacks (fire, frost, lightning, wind), and flight. Oongka starts with no Red nodes unlocked; they all require Abyss Artifact investment.
Green Branch (Spirit): Covers defensive and evasive abilities including keen senses, focus, dodge, counter, parry, and Spirit recovery. Also contains ranged skills like Scatter Shot and nature-based abilities.
Skills marked "Observe" can be learned by watching enemies perform the technique during combat. Once observed, the skill becomes available for purchase with Abyss Artifacts. Some skills are automatically unlocked through main quest progression.
The Blue Branch is Oongka's primary combat branch. It contains his weapon attacks, grappling chain, and signature moves like Quaking Fury and Rampage. Stamina management is critical when using these skills, as Oongka's most powerful moves consume 60 to 100 Stamina per use.

The Red Branch grants Oongka access to elemental powers and flight. The Imbue Element skill is the gateway to applying elemental effects to existing skills like Quaking Fury, Charged Shot, Scatter Shot, and Meteor Kick. Elemental attacks (Flame Quake, Frost Mantle, Lightning Pulse, Storm Howl) each require learning the corresponding element first.

The Green Branch focuses on defense, evasion, and Spirit management. Keen Senses unlocks the Dodge, Counter, and Parry abilities, which are essential for surviving difficult encounters. Focus improves Spirit recovery and unlocks ranged enhancements.

The following priority order is based on community consensus and the recommended skills listed on the Fextralife wiki. Oongka's wide-arc attacks make him the most beginner-friendly character, but investing in the right skills early makes a significant difference.
Quaking Fury: Automatically unlocked and one of Oongka's strongest skills. The ground slam shockwave hits in a wide area. Invest in Quaking Fury Proficiency for combo chaining.
Evasive Shot: Essential for ranged combat survivability. Lets you dodge while aiming without dropping your aim stance.
Lariat: Unlocks from Grappling Lv 2. Slams enemies into the ground for high damage and creates openings for follow-up attacks.
Clothesline: A powerful charging attack that closes distance quickly. Great for initiating combat.
Rampage: A devastating spinning attack that hits in a full 360-degree arc. Pairs exceptionally well with Dual Wielding Mastery for increased damage.
Dual Wielding Mastery: Lets Oongka wield two-handed weapons with one hand, boosting Rampage and Spinning Slash damage. A must-have passive.

Quaking Fury with Elemental Quaking Fury: At Imbue Element Lv 1, Quaking Fury gains elemental damage. Combined with Quaking Rend Armor (Lv 4), this becomes Oongka's best skill for breaking through heavily armored enemies.
Oongka's wide-arc attacks make him the best character for fighting groups of enemies. Position yourself in the center of enemy packs before using Quaking Fury or Rampage for maximum impact.
Stamina is Oongka's most important resource. His best skills cost 60 to 100 Stamina each. Invest in Stamina upgrades early (he can reach Stamina Lv 14) and manage your bar carefully during boss battles.
The "Observe" unlock method lets you learn skills for free by watching enemies use them. Pay attention during combat encounters; if you see a new technique, you may be able to replicate it.
Oongka can switch to Kliff or Damiane at any time in the open world via the character wheel. Use Oongka for clearing enemy camps and difficult fights, then switch as needed for quests.
The Hand Cannon and Arm Cannon provide explosive ranged options that complement Oongka's close-range kit. Invest in Marksmanship and Evasive Shot to improve your ranged game.
Resetting one character's skill tree also resets the others. Plan your Abyss Artifact investments carefully before committing.
