The Numont is one of the five standard horse breeds available in Crimson Desert. Along with the Herspia, Brianto, Priden, and Elantrima, the Numont is a permanent mount that can be tamed in the wild, purchased from stables, or stolen from NPCs riding through the open world. Like all horses in the game, the Numont supports full mounted combat, equipment customization, leveling, and skill progression.
Horses are the most common and versatile mount type in the game, and the Numont is one of four breeds required for the Harmonious Hooves horse challenge. Each horse breed has a distinct visual appearance and slightly different base stat tendencies, though individual stat rolls are randomized within each breed.
There are three main ways to get a Numont horse:
Tame in the wild: Wild Numont horses can be found grazing in open fields and grasslands across Pywel. The river areas to the east and south of Hernand are particularly reliable spots where multiple horse herds graze near the water. Approach a wild horse from behind and initiate the taming minigame by holding the mount button.
Buy from stables: Stable vendors in major towns sell horses of various breeds, including the Numont. Check the available stock, as breed selection rotates.
Steal from NPCs: NPC riders and travelers sometimes ride Numont horses. You can dismount the rider and claim the horse, though this may count as stealing and attract attention.
Taming a wild Numont follows the same process as any other horse breed. When you spot a wild horse, approach it slowly from behind. Hold the camera directly behind the horse and press the taming button to grab on. During the taming minigame, the horse will spin and buck; you need to keep the camera aimed at its tail and move the analog stick in the opposite direction the horse is facing. Successfully calming the horse lets you ride it immediately.
Once tamed, bring the Numont to any stable to register it as a permanent mount. Registered horses can be summoned at any time using the mount whistle, and they persist through the rest of the game. You can own multiple horses and switch between them at stables.
Like all standard horse breeds, the Numont has six core stats that are randomized within breed-specific ranges when tamed or purchased. These stats increase as the horse levels up through use.
Stat | Description |
|---|---|
Speed | Determines the horse's top galloping speed and acceleration |
Stamina | Controls how long the horse can sprint before needing to rest |
Strength | Affects the horse's carrying capacity and resistance to being knocked down |
Health | Total hit points the horse can sustain before becoming incapacitated |
Attack | Damage dealt by the horse's own attacks during mounted combat |
Defense | Reduces incoming damage taken by the horse from enemies |
Individual stat distributions vary between breeds. While exact breed-specific stat caps have not been officially published, experienced players report that each breed leans toward certain strengths. Stats are also influenced by the horse's equipment loadout.
The Numont supports four equipment slots, shared across all horse breeds:
Slot | Effect |
|---|---|
Champron | Head armor that increases the horse's Defense stat |
Barding | Body armor that provides additional protection and may boost Health |
Saddle | Affects rider stability and comfort, influencing stamina consumption |
Stirrups | Improves mounted combat control and may boost the horse's Attack stat |
Horse equipment can be purchased from vendors, crafted through the crafting system, or obtained as quest rewards. Higher-tier equipment provides better stat bonuses. See Horse Items for a complete list of available gear.
The Numont is one of the four breeds required for the Harmonious Hooves horse challenge. This challenge requires the player to ride all four tamable breeds (Priden, Brianto, Numont, and Elantrima) for at least 100 meters each. Completing this challenge awards mastery points and contributes toward overall horse mastery progression.
Save before attempting to tame any wild horse. If the taming minigame fails, the horse may flee and you will need to find another one.
The Numont can be found in the same general areas as other wild horse breeds. Look for herds in open grasslands, particularly near rivers.
Higher-level horses gain better stats per level, so investing time in leveling your Numont through regular riding and combat pays off over the long term.
Equipping your Numont with quality horseshoes and saddles early on makes a noticeable difference in performance.
