Overview

Mackerel is a fish species in Starsand Island, found in Ocean (the Ocean, accessible from any coastal shoreline on the island). A common, fast-swimming ocean fish. One of the more frequently caught species.

Mackerel spawns specifically during Autumn rain. Like several rain-exclusive ocean species, this fish only appears when the weather is rainy in Autumn, so plan trips around the in-game weather forecast in the Phone app for the most reliable Mackerel sessions.

• Cooking: Process into Fish Fillet at the Separator for use in cooking recipes

• Selling: Sell directly at shops or through the Merchant Ship for better prices

• Gifting: Some NPCs enjoy receiving fish as gifts

• Fish Pond: Can be placed in a Fish Pond for breeding and display

• Islandpedia: Catching new species contributes to Islandpedia stamp completion
