How to Get White Dye

There is no item literally named "White Dye" in Crimson Desert. The closest match is the Bright Yellow Dye, which despite its name produces a near-white color on equipment. There are also light-colored alternatives available at certain Dyehouses.
The Bright Yellow Dye is found in the Reachwood Ruins, south of Hernand in the Pororin district. It sits on a wooden box atop an abandoned tower's rooftop.

You must complete the The Unreachable Village faction quest to gain access to the Pororin area. This quest becomes available during Chapter 2 of the main campaign.
Pick up the Bright Yellow Dye from the Reachwood Ruins.
Open your inventory.
Select the dye and press the Use button (X on PlayStation, A on Xbox).
The dye is consumed and unlocks all shades associated with that color at any Dyehouse.
After gaining access to Pororin Village, visit the Pororin Dyehouse and talk to Devin. Under the Pororin Dye section, select the top-left color option. This produces a pale, almost white shade that many players prefer.
A light blue dye from the Dyer's House in the southern outskirts of the Demeniss capital can also produce a near-white appearance on certain armor types, depending on the material.
If you want an actual brilliant white color rather than a pale substitute, the Pure White Dye is the item you are after. It is sold by the provisioner Wilmer at the town of Tinkerton (sometimes labeled Timberton in localized text) for 15 silver. Wilmer will only appear and stock the dye after you complete a short quest chain for the Blackwater Oil Merchant Guild, which is a faction centered on the Marni's Drilling Rig area east of Tinkerton.
The provisioner is tied to the Fading Tinkerton storyline (the quest is shown in-game as "Flickering Starlight"). The village's lights have gone out because the nearby drilling rig has stopped producing power, and your job is to restore it. The chain runs through several linked missions:
Head east from Tinkerton to reach Marni's Drilling Rig and clear out the Machina Knights blockading the site.
Enter the rig interior and complete Reactivate the Drilling Rig by repairing cables, routing power through the levers, and turning the main machine back on.
With power restored, follow the final objective back to Cordelia in Tinkerton to wrap up Light Restored to Tinkerton.
Once you have spoken to Cordelia, fast travel away from Tinkerton and then back again. This forces the town's NPCs and shop inventories to refresh.
Visit the provisioner shop in Tinkerton. Wilmer's stock will now include Pure White Dye for 15 silver. Buy it, open your inventory, and press Use to permanently unlock the color at every Dyehouse.
If the dye does not appear immediately after your first fast travel, sleep through a full in-game day cycle or travel to a distant Abyss Nexus and return. The shop inventory is gated on a world reload, not on time of day.
For the full item breakdown, including the silvery metallic finish you can produce by combining it with Glossy Finish, see the Pure White Dye article. For the matching black color obtained through a separate quest line in Muiquun, see Black Dye.
Consuming a dye unlocks its color palette at all Dyehouses in the game. Visit any Dyer NPC to apply the color to your equipped gear. Each dye unlocks multiple shade variations (lighter and darker tones) that you can choose from.
The Bright Yellow Dye is a one-time pickup, but once consumed, the color is permanently unlocked.
Different armor materials display dyes differently. Test the color on your actual gear before committing.
Check the Dye System article for a full overview of how dyeing works, including cauldron crafting.
The Pure White Dye path involves restarting the Varnia drilling rig in the far right corner of the map. The rig is part of the Blackwater Oil Merchant Guild quest chain, which you can find under Quests in your journal. The steps below outline the puzzle in the order you complete it in-game.
Liberate the rig by clearing every enemy on site.
Pick up an oil barrel and place it at the marked socket, then use Force Palm to slot it into position.
Turn the two cogs to your right by pressing right on the D-pad until both lock in place.
Take the lift up, then kick the button at the top to reveal two levers and pull both.
Drop down onto the panel floor, crouch, and use Force Palm to break through to the level below.
Fix both electrical circuits in the lower room.
Pull the lever that becomes active behind you, then pass through the door using Nature's Grasp to clear the path.
Drop down near the main engine and approach the four large screws around it. Jump on top of each screw and use Force Palm to drive it into place.
Once all four screws are fixed, leave the rig and speak to Cordelia at the map marker to complete the quest.
After the quest completes, fast travel away from Cordelia's area and run back. The NPC vendor who sells Pure White Dye only appears after this reload. Once he spawns, purchase the dye from him.
To actually apply Pure White Dye to gear, head to the Dyehouse in Hernand. The Hernand dyer is the one who accepts the pure white shade. See Pure White Dye for the full item details.
The cleanest in-world source for Pure White Dye is a small back-alley stall that opens up next to Marni's Drilling Rig in Delesyia. The stall is gated behind the rig quest chain and has to be triggered before any goods appear.
The unlock path runs in two halves. First, find the girl in the orange dress speaking to a group just above the I of the regional label and exhaust her dialogue to start the rig quest chain. Second, head to the rig and complete the full puzzle restart sequence covered under Blackwater Rig Puzzle Walkthrough above. Once the rig is repaired, return to the girl, then fast travel away and back so the world reloads. The vendor will be sitting under the rig on a small rug and stocks both Pure White Dye and Flawless Timber.
Bring enough currency for a single Pure White Dye purchase up front. The activation flow consumes the bottle on first use, so a single buy is enough to permanently teach the color. Repeat trips are only needed if you want extra bottles for a friend or for resale; the color itself stays unlocked forever after the first inventory Use.
Pure White Dye does not follow the standard Dyehouse flow. Before any Dyehouse will recognize the color, the bottle has to be activated from the inventory. The full sequence is:
Click Use in the inventory. Open the inventory, hover the Pure White Dye bottle, and select Use. This is a one-time activation that consumes the bottle and permanently teaches the color to your character.
Apply at the Wyanut Dyehouse for the first paint job. Travel to the Dyehouse in Wyanut and speak with the dyer. Pure White is now selectable from the palette for armor, weapons, shields, and horse gear. Apply it to whatever slot you want recolored.
Use the Howling Hill camp Dyehouse for repeat jobs. After unlocking the dye lover NPC at the Howling Hill camp Dyehouse, that station also serves the color and is the most convenient place to swap colors on subsequent gear pieces because it sits inside your own camp.
Skipping the Use step is the most common mistake reported by players: the dye sits in the inventory, the Dyehouse opens, the palette never shows the new white, and the trip feels broken. Click Use first and the palette will register the color on the next Dyehouse interaction.
