The Spire of Soaring is one of eight Spires that Kliff must activate during the Toward the Nest main quest in Chapter 5. This Spire sits in the northern part of the Demeniss region, near the Denn River. It involves redirecting power through wall panels using Axiom Force, rotating a large circular wheel at the summit, and riding an elevator into the Abyss where the Crescent Skybridge awaits.

You can follow roads most of the way to the Spire of Soaring from Demeniss City. The tower is tall enough to spot from a considerable distance, rising high above the surrounding terrain. Once you arrive, you will notice the main entrance door is blocked by collapsed debris. Do not waste time trying to clear it.
Instead, head to the cliffs on the east side of the tower and look for a lower path. Glide down from the cliff edge and you will see a tunnel entrance cut into the rock below the tower. Enter this tunnel and follow it through to the Spire's interior. This route is significantly faster and easier than trying to scale the tower exterior.
Inside the Spire, head to the right and up the stairs until you reach a set of air vents. Jump onto the vent and activate your Glide (double-press Square on PlayStation, or double-press A on Xbox). The wind current launches you upward through the tower's vertical shaft. Keep riding the updraft until you hit a ceiling that blocks further ascent.
At the ceiling, steer toward the wall and hop out of the airstream onto the ledge. From here, jump and use Aerial Force Palm to gain enough height to land on top of the platform above. This brings you to the first puzzle floor.
Warning: Do not remove the two blue balls powering the wind turbine below. They are needed for the air currents that carry you through the tower.
On this floor you will find a wall covered in circular panels that form a power circuit. These are the same style of panel puzzle found in other Spire challenges, where you need to rotate the panels until the power flow connects from one end to the other.
Press L1 + R1 (PlayStation) or LB + RB (Xbox) to reveal the full puzzle pattern on the wall. This highlights the connection points and the path the energy needs to follow. Use Axiom Force (hold L3 and rotate the right stick) to grab individual panels and rotate them into position.
The goal is to connect energy from the bottom-left of the wall to the bottom-right. Not all panels need to be moved. The four panels you need to manipulate are:
Panel 1: Rotate a quarter turn counterclockwise (one click).
Panel 2: Rotate a quarter turn counterclockwise (one click).
Panel 3: Rotate a quarter turn counterclockwise (one click).
Panel 4: Rotate a quarter turn clockwise (one click).
Important: Release each panel immediately when it clicks into its new position. The panels are very easy to rotate past their intended spot if you hold the input too long. Rotate the right stick slowly for better precision.
If the elevator fails to arrive after solving this puzzle, reload a recent save and attempt the rotations again. This is a known issue that some players encounter.
Once the power is properly redirected, the central platform rises to the next level. Here you will find a single large circular wheel mounted on the wall. This mechanism is simpler than the previous puzzle.
Step onto the platform in front of the wheel and grab it with Axiom Force (hold L3). Rotate the wheel a half turn in either direction until the power lines lock into position. When correctly aligned, the energy flows through a left-to-bottom-to-right configuration. This opens the path to the elevator platform above.
Warning: Do not extract the battery located below the top floor. It powers the wall panel directly above it.
Stand on the elevator platform and wait as it lifts you toward the top of the tower. The ascent takes roughly two minutes and carries you above the clouds. The ride offers panoramic views of the surrounding Demeniss landscape as you rise. Stay on the platform until you reach the summit area. At the top, the Spire opens and the platform continues to ascend directly into the Abyss.
At the top of the tower, you will find three glowing orbs that need to be connected to blue receiver points. These orbs are positioned across floating platforms separated by gaps, so you will need to use the Force Palm triple jump technique to cross: jump and activate Force Palm three times in succession, then glide across the remaining distance.
Approach each orb and latch onto it with L3. You can then physically move and rotate it to line up with the blue target receiver. The orb will glow brighter and lock into place once it is correctly aligned. Repeat this for all three orbs.
Hazard: Watch out for blue and purple flowers growing on the platforms near the orbs. Contact with these flowers drains your health steadily, so avoid standing on them while repositioning the orbs. Keep moving and step around flower clusters whenever possible.
After all three orbs are aligned, locate the activation device near the final platform. Latch onto it with L3 and turn the knob until the indicator shifts to blue. This activates the Spire and begins the transition into the Abyss.
You now arrive at the Crescent Skybridge area within the Abyss. Before doing anything else, step on the round floor plate in front of you to activate the Abyss Nexus, which serves as a fast travel checkpoint. If you fall off the Skybridge later, you can warp straight back here instead of climbing the entire Spire again.
From this point, the puzzle shifts to laser alignment and conduit repair on the Skybridge. See How to Activate Crescent Skybridge for the full continuation of this quest sequence.
Action | PlayStation | Xbox | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
Reveal puzzle pattern | L1 + R1 | LB + RB | Shows connection points on wall |
Grab/latch onto object | Hold L3 | Hold LS | Puzzle pieces, orbs, and devices |
Rotate panel (Axiom Force) | Hold L3 + rotate right stick | Hold LS + rotate RS | Slow rotation gives better precision |
Activate glider | Double-press Square | Double-press A | Use on wind platforms and for gap crossing |
Aerial Force Palm | Jump + R3 mid-air | Jump + RS mid-air | Gains height for reaching platforms |
If you fall during the ascent, you reset to the last floor. The puzzle state is preserved, so you do not need to redo the panel rotations.
The cave entrance at the base of the tower is the intended path. If you are struggling with the approach, look for the cave opening on the east side of the cliffs below the blocked main door.
When rotating panels, release the input the moment you hear a click. Overshooting even slightly forces you to rotate the panel all the way around again to get back to the correct position.
The two-minute elevator ride is a good time to check your inventory and prepare for the Abyss. Stock up on food and Palmar Pills before heading into the Skybridge section.
A fast travel point becomes available at the Abyss Nexus after the elevator. Always activate it so you can return quickly if you fall or are defeated by Crowaller.
The Crowaller boss fight begins shortly after completing the Skybridge. There is no opportunity to resupply between the Skybridge and the arena, so bring 100+ Grilled Meat or equivalent healing items.
The blue and purple flowers near the orb platforms deal continuous damage on contact. If your health is running low, step back and heal before continuing to reposition an orb.
