Overview

Gold Bars are one of the most valuable items in Crimson Desert. Each Gold Bar sells for approximately 500 silver, making them one of the best ways to build wealth in the game. Unlike Platinum, Gold Bars can be invested at the bank for additional silver returns, which makes them the preferred item for pure money-making. Once you unlock the crafting recipe and know where to farm the materials, you can produce Gold Bars indefinitely.

In-game description: "A heavy bar of gold. It was definitely refined by a skilled blacksmith. Gold, one of the rarest metals, is the source and center of all wealth. Its value is beyond imagination."

How to Get the Gold Bar Recipe

Before crafting Gold Bars through alchemy, you need the Alchemy Formula: Gold Bar recipe. This formula is found inside the Spire of Insight, a puzzle tower located in the Steel Mountains in the south of the map, directly south of Pororin Village. The recipe is pinned on a shelf on the third floor of the tower. See the Spire of Insight article for a full puzzle walkthrough.

Crafting Methods

There are three ways to craft Gold Bars. The most efficient method by far is the Brimstone/Mercury/Silver Ore recipe at a Witch NPC, since all three ingredients can be farmed from specific locations in the open world.

Where to Farm Materials

The recommended Brimstone/Mercury/Silver Ore recipe requires materials from three specific locations. Before farming, make sure you have the ice imbuement for your bow charge skill and the Nature's Snare ability, as these make collecting resources much easier.

Silver Ore

Head to the Heart of the Saints Cave at Three Saints Falls, north of Hernand. The cave is hidden behind the waterfall. Use the Stab move to slice through the water and enter. Inside, mine all the ore nodes for approximately 25 to 30 Silver Ore per run. The deposits respawn over time, so revisit periodically.

Brimstone

Travel to the Hexe Sanctuary and look for areas with sulfur pools and gas vents. Two farming methods are available:

• Kill Abyss Creatures: Hidden abyss creatures disguise themselves as rocks near the sulfur pools and spew water. Use attacks like Turning Slash and Forward Slash to defeat them for roughly 2 Brimstone each. Fast travel away and return to respawn them.

• Block Gas Vents: Use Nature's Snare (switch to the healing version by clicking the thumbstick) to block each vent with Force Palm. A palm leaf icon appears when a vent is sealed. After blocking all surrounding vents, use Nature's Snare on the final vent to trigger a larger gas release. Wait for the gas to settle, then harvest the glowing orb for 4 to 5 extra Brimstone.

Mercury

Mercury is found in the Hexe Sanctuary area as frozen pools. Equip your bow with ice element imbuement, then use a charged shot to freeze the pools into ice blocks. Break the ice blocks to collect a large amount of Mercury. The pools disappear after harvesting but respawn later. A second Mercury location exists near the Silver Wolf Mountain area, visible when skydiving down toward it.

Uses

• Selling: Gold Bars sell for approximately 500 silver each, making them one of the most profitable items to craft and sell.

• Banking: Gold Bars can be invested at the bank to generate additional silver over time. This is the primary advantage Gold Bars have over Platinum.

• Platinum Crafting: Gold Bars are a required ingredient for crafting Platinum (1 Gold Bar + 4 Brimstone + 3 Mercury + 2 Holy Water).

Tips

• The Brimstone/Mercury/Silver Ore recipe is far superior to smelting 100 Gold Ore at the blacksmith. Always use the Witch alchemy method.

• Farm all three materials in a single loop: start at Three Saints Falls for Silver Ore, then travel to the Hexe Sanctuary for both Brimstone and Mercury.

• Invest Gold Bars at the bank rather than selling them outright if you want long-term silver income.

• If you plan to craft Platinum for endgame weapons, set aside some Gold Bars instead of selling everything.
