Footwear is one of five Armor slots in Crimson Desert. Like gloves, footwear provides both attack and defense bonuses, making boots a dual-purpose equipment piece. Footwear also frequently grants movement speed bonuses and other secondary effects such as critical hit chance, attack speed, and lightning resistance.
Footwear attack values range from 7 to 18, with plate boots generally offering the highest numbers. Defense values range from 0 to 5. Many boots also include movement speed bonuses, making them important for exploration and positioning during combat. Most footwear features one or two Abyss Core slots.
The following table lists all 14 known footwear pieces. ATK and DEF values are base stats before Refinement upgrades. Price shows the purchase cost where known.

Footwear provides some of the highest attack values among armor slots. The Solas Plate Boots lead with 18 attack, followed by Odeck's Protector Plate Boots at 17 and both the Carta Plate Boots and Hungering Fang Leather Boots at 16. The Rabbit Cloth Boots and Ynitium Leather Boots sit at the lower end with 7 attack each. Prices vary widely: the Solas Plate Boots cost 5.65 Silver, while the budget Unyielding Warrior's Plate Boots are only 3.52 Silver.
Movement speed bonuses are common on footwear, with most leather boots granting Movement Speed Lv.1. The Rabbit Cloth Boots stand out with Movement Speed Lv.2, making them the fastest footwear in the game despite offering no defense. They can be crafted from Cloth x5 and Fleece x1, making them an accessible choice for exploration.
Several footwear pieces have unique passive effects not found on other armor. The Hungering Fang Leather Boots imbue attacks with Orbs of Lightning and boost stamina regeneration by 2%. The Solas Plate Boots increase spirit regeneration and swim speed. Odeck's Protector Plate Boots grant flat damage reduction alongside strong stats. The Demenissian Elite Boots and St. Halssius Priest's Footwear both provide faction disguises, letting the player infiltrate hostile territory. The Fiore Leather Boots are a unique case: they are broken and cannot be equipped, serving only as a sell item.
Footwear with a refinement gauge can be upgraded through 10 levels at the blacksmith in Hernand. Each level increases both the attack and defense stats. Material requirements depend on the boot type: cloth boots need Cloth Pieces and Fleece, leather boots need hides and bones, and plate boots need ores.
Two pairs of boots are given to the player as starting equipment:
Ynitium Leather Boots: Equipped by default as Kliff's starting gear. A solid all-around pair with critical hit chance, movement speed, and lightning resistance.
Demenissian Elite Boots: Part of Damiane's loadout. Provides attack speed, movement speed, and lightning resistance alongside the Demenissian Faction Disguise.
Not all boots serve the same role. Below is a breakdown of the best footwear choices organized by playstyle and purpose.
Players looking to maximize offensive output should prioritize the Solas Plate Boots at 18 ATK, the strongest footwear in the game. They can be purchased for 5.65 Silver at the Hernand Equipment shop. Odeck's Protector Plate Boots follow closely at 17 ATK with 5 DEF, making them a solid option for players who want high attack without sacrificing defense. Both the Hungering Fang Leather Boots and Carta Plate Boots sit at 16 ATK, with the Hungering Fang offering lightning imbue and the Carta offering passive health regeneration.
The Rabbit Cloth Boots are the clear winner for movement speed with their Move Lv.2 bonus, the highest movement speed tier available on any footwear. They can be crafted from just 5 Cloth Pieces and 1 Fleece, making them accessible early on. For runners-up, most leather boots and several plate boots offer Move Lv.1. The Solas Plate Boots also provide a 2% Swim Speed bonus, making them the best choice for underwater exploration.
For durability-focused builds, the Carta Plate Boots provide passive health regeneration at +1.0 HP per second, which adds up significantly during extended fights and exploration. Odeck's Protector Plate Boots and the Hernand Ceremonial Guard Boots both offer Damage Reduction 1.0, which reduces incoming damage by a flat amount per hit. Combined with high DEF values (5 for Odeck's, 4 for Hernand Ceremonial), these are reliable choices for tanking through difficult encounters.
Two pairs of boots grant faction disguises that allow the player to infiltrate restricted areas without triggering hostility. The Demenissian Elite Boots provide the Demenissian Disguise, letting the player move freely through Demenissian Delegation territory. The St. Halssius Priest's Footwear grants the St. Halssius Disguise for access to religious faction areas. Both are essential for stealth and infiltration quests.
Wearing a complete matching armor set in Crimson Desert grants set bonuses that provide additional stat boosts beyond the individual piece stats. Several footwear pieces belong to identifiable armor families. Collecting the full set (headgear, body armor, cloak, gloves, and footwear) is more powerful than mixing individual pieces from different sets.
Footwear | Armor Family | Weight Class | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
Ynitium Leather | Leather (Medium) | Kliff's starting set. Includes Ynitium Leather Armor, Cloak, Gloves, and Boots. | |
Demenissian Elite | Mixed | Damiane's loadout set. Grants the Demenissian Disguise when the full set is worn. | |
Solas Plate | Plate (Heavy) | High-end plate set available from the Hernand Equipment shop. | |
Canta Plate | Plate (Heavy) | Entry-level plate set from the Hernand Equipment shop. | |
Carta Plate | Plate (Heavy) | Mid-tier plate set purchasable at the Tailor Shop. | |

The Dye System allows full cosmetic customization of any armor regardless of set membership, so players can maintain the stat benefits of a matching set while customizing its appearance.
The Solas Plate Boots have the highest attack of any footwear at 18, available for 5.65 Silver at the Hernand Equipment shop. Pair them with the Solas Plate Armor for a powerful endgame plate setup.
Use the Rabbit Cloth Boots for overworld exploration thanks to their Movement Speed Lv.2 bonus. They cost nothing but crafting materials (Cloth x5, Fleece x1). Swap to higher-defense boots before combat.
The Hungering Fang Leather Boots are among the best boots for aggressive builds, combining 16 attack with critical rate, lightning imbue, and stamina regeneration.
Odeck's Protector Plate Boots offer the best defensive combination: 17 attack, 5 defense, movement speed, and flat damage reduction.
For a budget option early on, the Unyielding Warrior's Plate Boots at 3.52 Silver provide 10 attack, 2 defense, and two Abyss Core slots for customization.
