Overview

Crucian Carp is a freshwater fish species found in Starsand Island's lake zones. This small, resilient carp is known for thriving in a wide range of freshwater environments and is a popular target for anglers during the spring season. Unlike the common Carp found in rivers, the Crucian Carp sticks to lakes and only surfaces when rain sets in. Processing it at the Separator yields Fish Fillet for use in cooking recipes.

Where to Catch

Crucian Carp can be caught at any lake fishing node on the island, including Cloudrest Lake near Hopeland. The key restriction is weather: this species only bites during rainy conditions. If you arrive at a lake during spring and the skies are clear, you will need to either wait for rain or move on to other species that are active in sunny weather.

Bait and Fishing Tips

This fish requires Meat Bait, which can be crafted at the Chopper station. Make sure you have a healthy supply ready before heading out on a rainy spring day, since rain windows can be unpredictable.

• Tip: Rain is your friend for this catch. When rain starts during spring, head to the nearest lake immediately. Crucian Carp share rainy spring conditions with other rain-dependent fish, so you can work on multiple entries at once.

• Tip: The time window starts at 10:00, which means early morning hours are off limits. Plan your rainy-day fishing runs for late morning through midnight.

• Tip: Keep Meat Bait stocked in your inventory at all times during spring so you are ready whenever rain appears.

Uses

• Cooking: Process at the Separator to obtain Fish Fillet. Fish Fillet is an essential ingredient in dishes such as Steamed Fish (grants the Never Skunked fishing buff), Grilled Fish, and Sashimi.

• Selling: Sells for 108g at shops. The Merchant Ship at Starsand Port pays a premium, so holding fish for its arrival can significantly boost your income.

• Gifting: Can be given as a gift to select NPCs. Delphin at the AquaBlue Outpost likes fish gifts in general.

• Fish Pond: Place in a Fish Pond for breeding and display.

• Islandpedia: First catch registers a new entry in your Islandpedia.
