The Bringer of Balance is a unique two-handed weapon in Crimson Desert. It is found hidden within the Desert Ruins in the Tashkalp region and comes pre-equipped with the Relentless Abyss Gearwhich increases damage with consecutive attacks. With a base Attack Power of 25Critical Rate Level 1, and Attack Speed Level 1, this weapon rewards aggressive, sustained offense.
The Bringer of Balance occupies both hand slots, preventing the use of an off-hand item such as a shield. In exchangetwo-handed weapons generally provide higher raw damage output and wider attack sweeps. Players can further customize its performance through the Refining System and by socketing additional Abyss Gear into its available slots. The Relentless effect that comes pre-installed makes this weapon especially effective for builds centered around rapid, repeated strikes.

The Bringer of Balance is located in the Desert Ruins within the Tashkalp region, in an area known as Four Bears Baron. The quickest way to reach it is by using the teleporter located just above Deadfire Mountainwhich drops you directly into the area. The ruins sit south of the Forebearer's Barrens and can be identified by ancient runes surrounding the site and a hidden trap door among the ruined structures.
To reach the weapon, open the trap door and drop down into an underground dungeon. The interior is filled with numerous traps and explosives, so proceed carefully and use Focus or keen senses to identify hazards as you move through. At the end of the dungeon, you will find a lever mechanism. Pull it to open a sealed chamber containing a chest with the Bringer of Balance inside.
Unlike many weapons in the game, the Bringer of Balance does not require any quest prerequisite or story progression to obtain. You can travel to Tashkalp at any point during the game and retrieve it, making it accessible during early exploration if you are willing to brave the traps.
The Bringer of Balance comes pre-equipped with Relentlessan Abyss Gear that increases damage with each consecutive attack landed on a target. The longer you sustain your offense without pausing, the more damage each subsequent hit deals. This makes the weapon particularly powerful in extended fights against durable enemies and bosses with large health pools, where you can build up significant bonus damage over time.
Because so many attacks in Crimson Desert land consecutive hits, Relentless is a pickup worth grabbing regardless of your build. Whether you favor one-handed weaponstwo-handed greatswords, or even bows with rapid-fire arrow volleys, the escalating damage bonus will find opportunities to activate. This makes the Bringer of Balance one of the most broadly recommended weapon pickups in the game.
Relentless is not permanently bound to the Bringer of Balance. Like other Abyss Gear, it can be extracted and installed on a different weapon if desired. This means you can obtain the Bringer of Balance specifically to acquire the Relentless gem, then move it to your preferred weapon. The Combat Godsplate Gloveswhich are obtained from a boss fight in Tomaso's bone pit quest line, also come with Relentless pre-installed. Owning both gives you the option to run Relentless on two separate weapons simultaneously.
The Relentless effect rewards builds that maximize the number of hits landing in quick succession. Stacking Attack Speed through Abyss Gear on your gloves and boots is one of the most effective ways to amplify this weapon's strength. With six levels of Attack Speed distributed across your armor, you can cycle through heavy attack combos noticeably faster, allowing each swing to benefit from the escalating damage bonus.
A heavy attack spam build using the right trigger (R2/RT) pairs especially well with Relentless. Two-handed heavy attacks hit hard on their own, and when the consecutive damage bonus is layered on top, even late-game enemies and bosses can be worn down rapidly. Combining this with Abyss Gear options like Crow's PursuitShadow Clawor Ator's Orb can add tracking projectiles or bonus effects to each swing, further increasing sustained DPS.
Aesthetically and functionally, the Bringer of Balance pairs well with the Skyblazer Armor Setwhich is found across several locations in Delesia. The Skyblazer set provides defense Abyss Gear slots and stamina regeneration bonuses that complement an aggressive melee playstyle. The combination has a distinct wandering ronin appearance that many players find appealing.
For players running a hybrid ranged and melee setup, the Bringer of Balance serves as an excellent melee swap weapon alongside a bow like the Golden Knotted Ancestral Bow. You can open fights at range with explosive or imbued arrows, then switch to the Bringer of Balance to finish enemies off in close quarters while Relentless stacks your damage higher with each hit.
What makes the Bringer of Balance particularly notable is its unusual visual design. Despite functioning as a two-handed sword in every mechanical sense (moveset, damage type, scaling), it looks like a wooden staff. Specifically, it resembles the staff wielded by Master Dew during the main story. Players who equip this weapon will appear to be cutting enemies down with a piece of wood, which makes for a distinctive and somewhat comical aesthetic compared to conventional two-handed swords.
The weapon is on this list purely because of its visual uniqueness. Stat-wise and mechanically, it behaves exactly like any other two-handed sword, following the same combo chains, heavy attacks, and turning slashes that the weapon class is known for.
For players looking for a fast route: travel south of the Forbearers Barrons label and west of Tashelp. At the ruins in that area, find the trap door on the ground and interact with it to open it. Drop down into the hole below and pick up the staff from the altar inside. No combat or puzzles are required.
The Relentless bonus resets if you stop attacking for too long. Try to maintain a continuous chain of hits during boss fights to maximize the damage ramp-up.
Stacking Attack Speed on your gloves and boots (up to six total levels) dramatically increases the number of hits you can land per window, which directly amplifies Relentless.
If you already own the Combat Godsplate Glovesyou can run Relentless on both your weapon and gloves for even faster stacking. Consider pairing them with elemental imbues like Frost Hail for additional crowd control.
The Refining System increases the weapon's base Attack Power at higher refinement levels. Prioritize refining the Bringer of Balance early if it becomes your main weapon.
Because this weapon requires no quests to acquire, it can serve as a strong early-game upgrade for players who are comfortable navigating the trap-filled dungeon in Tashkalp.
The Bringer of Balance is stored behind a locked door in an underground ruins cellar near the right shoulder of Deadfire Mountain. The cellar is found by opening a trap floor hidden in an above-ground ruin, which makes the staff easy to miss on a first pass through the region.
Fast travel to the waypoint above the Deadfire Mountain shoulder. A separate environmental puzzle sits nearby, but solving it is not required to reach the staff.
Walk toward the small cluster of surface ruins marked with a trapdoor. Open the trapdoor to drop into the cellar.
Descend carefully: the landing chamber has a hole in the floor and a tripwire that triggers a small fire blast. Both are survivable but the blast can knock the player around.
The tripwire actually sets up the final interaction: when the blast pushes the character into the wall lever on the side of the room, the sealed door in front of the staff opens.
Walk through the now-open door and pick up the Bringer of Balance from the pedestal.
The staff drops at level one with 25 Attack and three pre-rolled Abyss gears: Attack +1a second Attack +1and Attack Speed. It also carries a distinctive set bonus that increases damage with consecutive attackswhich stacks visibly as combo numbers flash on the HUD.
The consecutive-attack damage bonus can be extracted and transferred onto another weapon such as the Dark Bringer, which pairs well with any fast-hitting melee build where hit streaks are easy to maintain.
