Overview

Brightening the Spirits is a faction quest for The Greymanes, part of the Scattered Embers quest chain at the Greymane Camp. The quest involves boosting the morale of the Greymane members, and rewards the player with a Grey Dye upon completion.

Quest Chain

Brightening the Spirits is part of the Scattered Embers quest line for The Greymanes. It is given by Naira, one of the supporting characters at Greymane Camp. The quest chain becomes available after completing Naira's earlier quest, "The Greymanes' New Fangs."

Sub-Quests

Gloomy Gray

The first part of the chain. Kliff must follow Naira on horseback through the surrounding area. This is a straightforward riding sequence with no combat.

Vibrant Dye

After completing Gloomy Gray, Naira asks Kliff to craft a dye for her. She provides the necessary ingredients:

• Rhinoceros Beetle x1

• Longhorn Beetle x1

• Pink Rosemary x10

The dye cannot be crafted at the location where Naira leads you. Instead, return to Hernand and find the alchemist's cauldron in a nondescript house across the street from the back of the Tannery. You can identify the correct building by the two recipe scroll icons visible on the minimap. Use the cauldron with the provided ingredients to craft the Bright Red Dye.

Completing the Quest

After crafting the dye, return to Naira to complete the quest. Using the Bright Red Dye in your inventory automatically unlocks the color option for future use at Dyehouses. Completing this chain also unlocks access to Dyehouses in village outskirts, where players can purchase additional dye colors, customize individual armor and clothing pieces, and select different material finishes for cosmetic effects.
