Threats once contained inside the Oldest House have now spilled out and are reshaping reality in Manhattan. The containment failures that made that possible are the backdrop the Resonant crisis grows out of.

Narrative Function

Moving Resonant's action out of the Oldest House is a deliberate design choice. It lets Remedy open the game up to larger outdoor spaces, move away from the claustrophobic interior of the first game, and use the Oldest House's legacy as backstory rather than as the current playing field.
