Historical Premise

Blood Message is rooted in the real Shazhou Uprising of 848 A.D. NetEase has built the game around that specific event in Tang Empire history, which gives the story a concrete anchor rather than a fantasy framing.

Father and Son

The player controls the messenger and his young son as they travel together. That pairing is not a side detail; it is the emotional core. Sacrifice, family, and cultural identity are the themes NetEase has framed the game around, and they are expressed moment-to-moment through how the father protects and teaches the son.

Gameplay Expectations

• Expect combat blended with stealth and survival, not a pure action game.

• Expect parkour moments, including specific shown beats like swinging across a ravine and jumping between ledges.
