Created boss page for Taurus with encounter table, Acid weakness, Botan rewards, and moveset
Taurus is the Nushi that presides over the Mountainous Region, a heavy quadruped that fights with its horns, its tail spikes, and the ground itself. It is the most-repeated Nushi in the campaign: twice in Chapter 4 at levels 26 and 29 in Pilgrim's Zone, then once more in Chapter 8 at level 44 after the route reaches the Crater Zone. It is weak to Acid in every encounter, and burn buildup also lands well.
Fight | Chapter | Level | Region | Location |
|---|---|---|---|---|
First | Chapter 4 | 26 | Mountainous Region | Pilgrim's Zone |
Second | Chapter 4 | 29 | Mountainous Region | Pilgrim's Zone |
Third | Chapter 8 | 44 | Wasteland Region | Crater Zone |
Fight | Level | Rewards |
|---|---|---|
First | 26 | Taurean Memories, Nushi Skill: Charging Botan |
Second | 29 | Bloom Art: Botan: Chaser, Blade Art: Botan |
Third | 44 | Bloom Art: Botan: Chaser II, Finisher: Botan |
Clearing the line unlocks the Taurus's End achievement.
Attack | How It Works | Response |
|---|---|---|
Horn Swipe | Pulls its head aside and swipes one to three times, usually twice. | Parry each hit. It is the best source of Entanglement and FP in the fight. |
Projectile Tail Spikes | Whips its tail and fires three spikes, often while retreating. | Parry or dodge each spike. The delay between shots punishes an early dodge. |
Spikes from Below | Paws the ground, stomps, and erupts spikes across a marked area. The tell disappears in the second phase. | Unparryable. Sprint clear of the area or time a perfect dodge. |
Homing Ground Spikes | Stomps so spikes travel toward Emma along a red ground marker. | Unparryable. Dodge just before the spikes arrive. |
Horn Charge | Grows a single horn, then charges in a straight line. | Dodge it. The recovery is long enough for Entanglement Overdrive. |
Horn Swipe Combo | Glows red, chains four horn swipes, backs off, then finishes with a thrust. | Parry all five hits and punish the recovery. |
Taurus opens most sequences at range and closes with a chain, so the fight rewards patience over greed. Acid Arrows and Acid Bolts exploit the weakness from a distance while the boss gallops around the arena, and a corrosion or burn stack keeps chipping health between openings. Koo's binding skills are the other half: Higanbana: Roots can stop the opening rear-up and interrupt the longer combos, which turns the boss's most dangerous windows into free damage.
The second encounter adds a phase change once the health bar empties, and the boss becomes markedly more aggressive afterwards. Keep ammunition in reserve for that phase and read the red ground markers rather than trying to memorise a fixed rotation.
Save Entanglement Overdrive for the Horn Charge recovery or a bind, not for the middle of a combo.
Do not punish immediately after it retreats, because it usually fires tail spikes on the way out.
Restrain and corrosion buildup both hold up well across all three fights.
Taurus is the third Nushi in the sequence, after Lacerta and before Corvus. Bosses lists the full roster and Regions and Zones covers the two areas the fights take place in.
