Re-pointed the Nushi links to the names the shipped game uses
Lacerta is the second Nushi Emma hunts, a swamp-dwelling reptile that rules the flooded ruins of the Ancient Civilization Zone in the Kanto Region. It is fought twice inside Chapter 2, first at level 13 and again at level 16, and it is weak to Lightning in both encounters. Clearing the second fight unlocks the Lacerta's End achievement.
Detail | Value |
|---|---|
Chapter | Chapter 2 |
Region | Kanto Region |
Location | Ancient Civilization Zone |
Levels | 13 (first fight), 16 (second fight) |
Weakness | Lightning |
Status pressure | Poison resistance is worth stacking before the fight |
Achievement | Lacerta's End |
Each victory hands Emma part of Lacerta's power. The poison-themed Dokuzeri line that runs through the rest of the game starts here.
Fight | Level | Rewards |
|---|---|---|
First | 13 | Lacertine Memories, Nushi Skill: Dokuzeri Shower |
Second | 16 | Bloom Art: Dokuzeri: Fang, Blade Art: Dokuzeri |
Attack | How It Works | Response |
|---|---|---|
Bite Combo | Lunges forward into a three-hit bite chain. | Parry every bite. This is the cleanest way to build FP for Koo and fill the stagger gauge. |
Tail Swipe | Turns and swings its tail in a wide arc. | The wind-up is obvious. Parry, then counterattack. |
Toxic Globs | Raises its head and spits three purple globs in succession. | Dodge each projectile rather than parrying, then close the gap. |
Trees from Below | Pools water around itself to slow movement, glows red, then erupts trees out of the ground. | Unparryable. Jump when the red reticle appears, then punish the recovery. |
Swimming Lunge | Submerges, swims at Emma, and surfaces into a single bite. | It cannot be damaged while submerged. Hold the parry for the moment it breaches. |
Poison Gas Charge | Vents poison gas, then charges in a straight line. | Dodge sideways or parry to stagger it. Fire Arrows, Fire Bolts, or Koo's Higanbana: Seeds ignite the gas and cancel the charge. |
Lightning is the lever for the whole fight. The Thunderwave Sword is handed out during the same stretch of the main story after the first kill, which makes the rematch noticeably shorter, and Lightning Arrows and Lightning Bolts cover the gaps when the boss is out of reach. Koo carries the rest: lightning-element skills for stagger pressure, a binding skill to interrupt the heavy attacks, and a healing option so Emma is not spending stimpacks between openings.
The fight breaks into two halves. Lacerta is slow early, which is the window to learn its parry timings in melee and save ammunition. It speeds up in the second half and spends more time in the water, so switch to ranged damage whenever it swims off and only re-engage once it surfaces.
Use Entanglement Overdrive after the bite combo or the tail swipe, when the recovery is longest.
Ignite the poison gas with fire damage instead of dodging it, which turns the charge into free damage.
Clear any adds quickly so the arena stays a one-on-one fight.
Keep an antidote on Koo, since poison stacks fast in the flooded sections.
Lacerta sits second in the Nushi order after Rangifer and before Taurus. The full encounter list, including the paired fights and the recurring Malefact bosses, is on Bosses, and the shared mechanics behind Nushi rewards are covered under Nushi.
