Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced introduces three new recruitable officers for the Jackdaw. Unlike the original game's crew mechanics, each officer in Resynced is a named character with their own questline. Players earn each officer by completing that questline and building sufficient trust, rather than purchasing upgrades.

Each officer requires the player to complete a dedicated questline before they can join the Jackdaw. The questlines are built around the concept of earning trust: the officer needs to see that Edward is worth sailing with.
