The original ArcheAge received major content updates throughout its 12-year lifespan. These are listed with their Western (NA/EU) launch dates where available. Korean servers typically received updates 3-6 months earlier.
The first major content expansion opened the entire Auroria continent. Guilds could claim territories, build castles, and engage in Siege Warfare for political and economic control. The four claimable territories (Nuimari, Calmlands, Heedmar, and Marcala) became the endgame's focus. This update also introduced Diamond Shores as the gateway zone.

A major systems overhaul that added the political system allowing players to take up leadership roles on servers. Included upgraded crafting houses, guild expeditions, guild wars, and server evolution that merged and restructured existing servers.
One of the largest expansions. Added two new Playable RacesDwarves (Nuia Alliance) and Warborn (Haranya Alliance), each with unique racial transformation abilities. Introduced Magithopters (hovering aerial vehicles), the Abyssal Skill system for deeper skill customization, and new zones Airain Rock and Sunbite Wilds.
Added the Swiftblade skillset, the 10th base skillset focusing on fast dual-wield melee combat. This brought the total class combinations to 165 (from the original 120). Also included quality-of-life improvements and new content zones.

Originally targeted for October 24, 2018, the launch was delayed three weeks due to the Gamigo acquisition of Trion Worlds. The expansion added the Malediction skillset (11th skillset, 45 new class combinations using dark magic), the Western Hiram Mountains zone, and the Hiram gear system that transformed endgame itemization by providing a deterministic upgrade path.
This update coincided with the launch of ArcheAge: Unchainedthe buy-to-play version. Both the free-to-play and Unchained versions received the Shadows Revealed content update, which included new dungeons, the Swiftblade skillset improvements, and additional Auroria content.
A major expansion that continued the game's evolution with new systems, content, and story progression.

Added the Spelldance skillset, the 12th and final skillset. Based on the lore of Naimaone of the twelve heroes who died during the expedition, the skillset featured dance-based healing abilities. This brought the total class combinations to 220.
Under ' publishing, the game received additional content patches focused on balance adjustments, quality-of-life features, and the eventual merger of ArcheAge and Unchained in December 2023. Development resources increasingly shifted toward ArcheAge Chronicles as the original game wound down toward its March 2025 closure.
