Overview

In Another Hero's Adventure, you begin as a spirited young man from a well-off family, sheltered and unwilling to be confined to his studies. He carries no martial standing and no reputation in the wider world. The whole appeal of the opening premise is that this ordinary, untested youth steps out of a comfortable home and into the ever-shifting jianghu, the sprawling martial world, driven by a thirst for freedom. From that starting point, the character grows over the course of a journey that is described as yours alone.

What that growth looks like in precise, mechanical terms has not yet been detailed by the developer. This page lays out what is confirmed about the protagonist's starting position, then describes, with clear hedging, the kind of progression that long-time players of the studio's earlier work expect to see return.

The Starting Point (Confirmed)

A few things about where the protagonist begins are established by the game's premise:

Because the protagonist is a blank slate at the outset, progression is the throughline that turns him from a curious outsider into someone capable of surviving, and shaping, the martial world.

What the Studio Has Confirmed About Building a Character

Two pieces of the progression picture are settled rather than expected.

• Character creation returns, reworked. When announcing the game the studio listed character creation among the things it set out to fix from the earlier title, alongside eight-direction movement. Players who tried the demo build confirmed a character-creation step is present. The range of options has not been detailed.

• Your attack attribute is built, not assigned. The studio has been explicit that a martial artist is meant to be malleable in a way a cultivator is not: rather than being locked in at the start, attack attributes are assembled from the weapon you carry, the internal Manual you cultivate, and the moves you use. When those attributes reinforce or match one another, your moves hit harder, and internal Manuals can be swapped in the middle of a fight to answer whatever is in front of you. Both are confirmed features rather than carryover expectations, which makes them a useful anchor: growth in this game is at least partly a matter of loadout and study, not only of raw levels. The rest of the picture below is still hedged.

How Growth Is Expected to Work (Not Yet Confirmed)

The studio's earlier game built its sense of advancement around two intertwined ideas: learning martial arts, and developing the character's personal qualities over time. Because Another Hero's Adventure is described as continuing the spirit of the original and brings back classic turn-based combat, many players expect a comparable progression loop to return in some form. None of the specifics below have been confirmed for this title, so they should be read as expectations carried over from the earlier work rather than as features promised for this game.

• In the original game, characters grew largely by learning and mastering martial arts. A practitioner could pick up an enormous variety of techniques and improve them through use and study, so a meaningful share of progression came from expanding and deepening what your character knew how to do. • In the original game, the protagonist also developed personal attributes over the journey, the underlying qualities that fed into both combat and the wider social simulation. The exact attributes, how they were raised, and any caps are details that have not been revealed for this title, and the names and numbers from the earlier game should not be assumed to carry over unchanged.

• Progression and combat were tightly linked, since a stronger, better-trained character performed better in fights. Another Hero's Adventure confirms a turn-based Combat System enhanced with new mechanics, so it is reasonable to expect character growth to feed into that system, but the precise relationship is not yet confirmed.

What Is Not Yet Revealed

No specific stat names, no level cap, and no progression numbers have been published for Another Hero's Adventure. The character sheet, any experience or training systems, and how mastery is measured are all unconfirmed. Rather than borrow figures from the earlier game, treat those details as pending until the developer reveals them.
