Nova City is the primary setting of Ananta, a fictional metropolis roughly comparable to the size of Manhattan. The city prioritizes density and interactivity over pure scale, representing one of gaming's largest and most detailed urban playspaces.
The developers aim to create 'a place you'd actually want to live, not just visit for missions.' The core design principle states: 'if you see a basketball court, you should be able to play basketball; if you see a door, you should be able to open it.'
Key design features include:
Interactivity - Players can engage with nearly every visible element including doors, NPCs (whose phones can be grabbed to read messages), environmental objects, and activities.
Dynamic NPCs - Citizens follow 24/7 routines with realistic schedules, respond to chaos incidents, and react to player actions through the 24/7 NPC Cycle system.
Urban Density System - Future updates will increase density within existing areas rather than expand physical boundaries, enriching neighborhoods with more buildings, NPCs, and activities.
Nova City offers extensive transportation options:
Subway System - A functional underground transit network connecting districts for fast travel, replicating realistic metropolitan transit infrastructure.
Vehicles - Cars, motorcycles, taxis, buses, and helicopters are available for exploration.
Pedestrian Infrastructure - Sidewalks, crosswalks, and urban pathways for on-foot exploration.
Grappling Hooks and Chaos Liquid - Spider-Man-style traversal through swinging and supernatural movement abilities.
The city offers numerous activities beyond combat:
Basketball - 2v2 multiplayer matches on courts throughout the city.
Movie Theaters - Watch films in authentic theater settings.
Mahjong - Full rule implementation at establishments like Dream Garden.
Fitness Centers - Various workout activities.
Dating System - Build Persona-inspired relationships with ACTF members at various venues.
Additional activities include darts, pub games, cat petting in parks, shopping, and watching street performances.
Nova City contains distinct neighborhoods with unique characteristics:
Nova Inception Urbs - The first city area, designed in a Japanese urban style. Other cities with European and American inspirations will become available in future updates.
Delirium Block - An artistic district featuring street art, graffiti, and creative communities. Home territory of Bansy.
Business districts, residential areas, industrial zones, beaches, amusement parks, and underground networks all contribute to the city's diversity.
Nova City is affected by Chaos incidents - recurring supernatural events requiring Anti-Chaos Directorate intervention. A meteor disaster continues to impact the city, connected to the broader supernatural anomalies that define the game's conflict.
The setting is described as a world where 'urban legends become reality and humans coexist with the supernatural.'
