Chongxiao is the second city in ANANTA and the counterpart to Nova City. It was revealed on August 25, 2026 in the launch-date trailer shown at Gamescom 2026, the same presentation that dated the game to January 15, 2027. Where Nova City is the neon coastal metropolis the player arrives in, Chongxiao is presented as the place the Captain is from.

Two Cities, Two Adventures

The official framing for the pair of cities is "Two Cities, Two Adventures," with Chongxiao introduced under the line "Journey to the East and explore." Store copy describes the trip in casual terms: one plane ticket takes the player back to their old stomping grounds, and even a place the Captain knows well is said to be hiding a secret or two.

That framing matters for how the wiki treats the two settings. Nova City is where the story of the A.C.D. task force begins. Chongxiao is a return rather than a discovery, so its areas are written from the perspective of somewhere the player character already has history with.

Design and Inspiration

Publisher material states that the game's cities draw on real-world metropolises including Shanghai, Hangzhou, and Tokyo, and that each city has its own culture, atmosphere, and challenges. Chongxiao is the Eastern-styled half of that pairing: riverside districts of glass towers standing over low brick housing, lake scenery, and small tea towns that sit outside the urban core.

Two threads run through everything shown of Chongxiao so far. The first is the collision of old and new, stated directly in the description of Mingpu District, where a long-standing institution operates next door to cutting-edge technology firms. The second is martial arts: Chongxiao is where sects, qualifications, and training culture appear, and where the game's martial-arts combat framing has an in-world home.

Chongxiao has not published a full district list, a map, or a size figure. The three areas above are the ones the official location pages cover, and the wiki does not assume they are the whole city.

Institutions and Culture

The Lingjing Supervisory Agency is named as Chongxiao's authority for both Lingjing phenomena and Chaos incidents, which makes it the closest Chongxiao equivalent to the A.C.D. in Nova City. Alongside Chaos response it runs surveys, administers examinations for atypical talent, and acts as an employment agency, so it functions as a civic institution rather than purely a strike force.

Martial arts sects are the other named social structure. The Bachong Pagoda at Weilan Lake draws trainees as well as tourists, and entry is restricted to people who have joined a sect. That is the first confirmed instance of formal membership gating access to a location in either city.

What Is Not Confirmed

• How large Chongxiao is relative to Nova City, and whether it is a full open world or a smaller set of connected areas.

• Whether travel between the two cities is a loading transition, a flight sequence, or something the player controls.

• Whether the three published areas are the complete set of Chongxiao regions.

• Whether Chaos behaves the same way in Chongxiao as it does in Nova City, beyond the supervisory agency handling both Chaos and Lingjing matters.

Earlier marketing spoke in general terms about additional cities being added over time, including European-styled and American-styled settings. Chongxiao is the first of those additional cities to be named, shown, and given official location pages, and none of the other city concepts have been named since.

Name

Chongxiao is the official English spelling used across the game's own site and store listing. The Chinese-language name is 重霄. Nova City is rendered 新启 in Chinese-language material, so the two names are not variants of one another; they are two distinct places.
