ANANTA appeared at Gamescom 2026 Opening Night Live on August 25, 2026 with a launch-date trailer that gave the game its first firm release date: a global launch on January 15, 2027. It was the game's largest information drop since Tokyo Game Show 2025, and it ended a stretch of roughly eleven months in which no new official gameplay material had been published.
What Was Announced
Item | Detail |
|---|---|
Global release date | January 15, 2027 |
Platforms | PlayStation 5, PC, iOS, and Android. See Platforms and System Requirements |
PC distribution | A dedicated client and, confirmed for the first time, Steam |
Second city | Chongxiao, shown in the trailer |
New characters | |
Pre-registration | Open across all platforms, with milestone rewards published |
The date was carried straight onto the official site, whose page title and description were rewritten the same day to lead with the global release date. The Chinese-language site was updated in step. Ahead of the show, the Chinese channel had posted on August 19 that the game would appear at the Opening Night broadcast, which aired in the early hours of August 26 in that time zone.
The Launch-Date Trailer
The trailer was published in English, Japanese, and Korean on the game's regional channels. Coverage of it consistently describes the same beats: traversal across the city, switching between characters, combat, interactions with ordinary citizens, and the social-influence layer that drives progression. Its headline reveal was Chongxiao, the second city, presented as somewhere the player character returns to rather than discovers.

Published Feature Set
The announcement came with a structured feature list, the first the game has published in this form. It is summarised below; each row links to the wiki page that covers the system in depth.
Feature | What was stated |
|---|---|
Explore a Living Modern World (City Life) | Cinemas, mahjong parlors, arcades, cat cafés, maid cafés, gyms, restaurants, clothing stores, and open-air hot springs |
Travel Without Limits (Traversal) | Guided by the philosophy "go where you can see"; car, motorcycle, helicopter, yacht, subway, and hang glider |
Build Your Own Yeet Squad | More than 100 NPCs with individual stories and quests; build relationships, recruit allies, and unlock exclusive items, badges, and combat abilities |
Experience Multiple Lives (Identity System) | Step into roles including NCCA officer, hacker, delivery rider, and content creator |
Fight Your Way (Combat System) | Combine martial arts techniques with environmental elements to develop a personal combat style |
The publisher summarised the whole design under a single line, "Go Viral. Save the World.", and described the core system as one driven by social influence and the pursuit of attention, with the player taking on the identity of an influencer in a city governed by algorithms and online culture. The same text confirms that players recruit a cast of agents to rebuild the A.C.D. team and switch between them, each character carrying a distinct perspective, storyline, and approach to exploration and combat.
Pre-Registration
Pre-registration remained open across PC, console, and mobile through the announcement, and the site's live counter passed 18 million shortly afterwards. The announcement window produced by far the sharpest increase the counter has recorded, roughly twelve times the daily rate of the preceding period.
Milestone rewards were published at the same time, split across two tracks: one tied to the pre-registration count and one tied to official social media followers. See Golvent and Currencies for what the currency rewards actually are.
Significance
It is the first firm release date in the game's history. Every prior statement was a year at best, and the wiki had carried the release as undated since the project was announced.
It is the first confirmation that the game will be distributed on Steam rather than only through a dedicated PC client.
It named a second city for the first time, after nearly two years in which Nova City was the only setting shown.
It expanded the named cast for the first time since September 2025.
Relationship to Earlier Showings
The game's public history now has three major beats: the rename and full reveal in December 2024, the Tokyo Game Show 2025 showing in September 2025 that produced the playable demo and the Japan Game Awards Future Division win, and this announcement. Closed Beta Test 1 sits between the second and third, having run in January 2026 for PC players in the China region. No second beta test has been announced, and the launch date now supersedes the question for most purposes.
