The Pendicis is an enemy in Alabaster Dawn. It is an Aether themed Nuemera that appears primarily in the Trial of Aether but turns up in several other areas as well. It looks like a large pink flying fish with insect-like wings, and in-game it is described as likely a Nyx-corrupted Rainbow Carp. This is the Aether flying-fish Nuemera that earlier appeared in promotional material; it is fully fightable in the current build.

Combat

The Pendicis is a flying enemy, but it stays low to the ground and does not evade, so it can be hit with melee attacks. It alternates between three attacks: a lightning beam fired after it backs away, a sawblade spin that flies into Juno and can be parried for break, and an Aether orb thrown into a low arc that explodes on landing.

It takes increased break accumulation from Aether and is resistant to the other Aspects. It is fairly tanky and takes a while to break; once broken it falls to the ground stunned and loses its elemental resistance. Its enraged sidequest form is the boss Pendicis Caestos.

• Koro Valley: Remis Rock and Lake Vasia.

• Trial of Aether: several rooms across the dungeon, including optional treasure battles.

• Aurum Plains: North Bend and South Bend.

• Hotspring Cave: Foggy Lair, during the Spring's Return questline.

Drops

The Pendicis drops Pendicis Essence at a 100% rate.

Tips

• Lead with an Aether-aligned loadout. Aether is the only Aspect that meaningfully speeds up its break bar.

• Parry the sawblade spin. It is the one attack that reliably feeds break accumulation without an Aether setup.

• Stay mobile against the orb toss. The explosion on landing is easy to walk out of once you read the arc.
